Galchenyuk begins his redemption with a surprise start against his old team.  He continues it with a Gordie Howe hat trick.

(Just for fun, I googled the term.  Check out the last line under "Leaders" in the Wikipedia entry:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gordie_Howe_hat_trick

I think you'll be surprised at who among active players has the most.)

Tonight's game worries me. 3 in 4 for Leafs and they normally stink in these situations.  It'll bug me cause the Habs just won last week in a similar situation with 3 in 4 and Leafs were rested. Hope I'm wrong but I don't expect a win.

Definitely a surprise!

It got me thinking about records though. People often debate what is the most unbreakable record in hockey (or sports in general), and while it's not an official record, it seems very unlikely anybody ever tops Rick Tocchet's 18 Geordie Howe hat tricks given the lack of fighting in the game any more.

I'm going to agree with you as personally I'm seeing some old habits creeping into the game like previous seasons. JT line need to contribute and Andersen has to be solid otherwise another loss to my most hated opponent and I hope I'm also wrong.

The positivity in these two posts are like a breath of fresh air.

One of the active leaders is definitely a surprise. The other makes sense when you put some thought into it and consider the state of the game.

Freddie will shut them down tonight. Mathews with the hattie. The Habs refuse to come out for the third period. Is that better? ;D

Meh, the schedule is what it is. I'm not too concerned. They just need to keep consistent and playing hard and hopefully it translates in the playoffs.

Let me spoil things for you then. The Habs are a pretty good team. No matter the teams' level of rest, there's a chance the Leafs lose tonight. They might lose a close one or a blowout. There's also a chance they might win tonight. Again, maybe a close one or a blowout.

I wish a tie was also still a potential outcome.

Remember those days of the tie game.  I think they called them "sister kissers".

At what point do we consider a game a disappointment if Matthews and Marner don?t combine for 6 points?

I like those odds!

You know, I would probably be pretty fond of the Ayers story if it wasn't for Leaf haters using it to try and make me feel bad. People suck.
