Game Notes

TOR
?Andersen (16-8-0, 2.50 GAA, .926 Sv%) will likely start for the Leafs
?These were apparently the lines at practice. Pretty solid 3rd line there

CAR
?It's the first game for the Hurricanes since Friday Night's 4-1 win over the Ducks. Mrazek was in net for that one so, what the heck, I'll say he's the prohibitive favourite to start here too
?Our old buddy Curtis McElhinney was put on IR on Sunday with a lower body injury.
?Sebastian Aho is their #1 Centre, with 27 points in 28 games. Sebastian Ahi would be a sort of Tuna-Man.
?Carolina is the only team without the name of a specific geographic location. Is that why they're currently playing to the emptiest building in the league? I'll go out on a limb and say yes.
?The Hurricanes' team plane had to make an emergency landing because of a ?noxious smell? in Oklahoma yesterday. Relevant to the game tonight? Only time will tell.

Injuries

?Zach Hyman ? Sinister NHL Conspiracy ? Two Games
Code:

?McBackup - Lower Body - Injured Reserve
?Whichever Staal Brother They Have ? Concussion ? Day to Day
?Michael Ferland ? Concussion ? Injured Reserve

How was there no Little Mermaid reference here?

They look pretty good together.

Other Leaf fan sites may have more extensive content, but we cover the Dada angle.

Funny, had a tuna tower for lunch yesterday, damn good.  Just to update Nikos, It is no longer the Phoenix Coyotes but the Arizona Coyotes so now there are two, oh forgot about the Florida Panthers and the New Jersey Devils, Minnesota Wild, Colorado Avalanche and the Nova Scotia Oyster Shuckers (due to start in 2028)

Has it been the appropriate amount of minutes for me to call Nylander a bust yet?

I want you to take a few seconds, think about which of us is more likely to get this basic fact wrong, then get back to me.

Ok they don't specify North or South. You win. Checkmate >:(

Now if they called themselves the Carolinas Hurricanes...
Now this is getting strange, in his classic song, James Taylor sings that in his mind he's going to Carolina, he didn't sing Carolinas.  So now this opens a whole can of worms trying to figure out which one he meant. Damn I now hate that song.

Much like Ryan Adams and his song "Oh My Sweet Carolina" the clue is in the singer himself. James Taylor grew up in North Carolina so it's pretty safe to assume that the song is about thinking of home.

FWIW Carolina colloquially means either one or both together.  But I've never heard anybody use that term in regular conversation.  Unless you are James Taylor being lyric-y you say "Going to [North or South] Carolina."
