Leafs @ Islanders - Feb. 27th, 7:00pm - SN, SN 590

Poor play in our zone costs us again.

This is the most talented offensive team since the days of Mats/Mogs/Roberts, probably moreso overall.  The complete inability to make simple plays in our own end is going to be the downfall of this squad.

Bernier stunk. I will accept the insults for that comment. Gardiner and Gunderson were awful. Bozak looked great, and Reimer starts Saturday. Enough said. Bring on the comments.

The team played like crap tonight, showing lots of rust from the break, but still got a point out of it.  Not good, but not bad either.  Hopefully the timing and legs get back before Montreal on Saturday.

randynumbers: Two more third-period blown leads by the #Leafs tonight. That's 18 on the season, tied for the most in the league (with Calgary). #brutal

I kinda doubt Reimer starts Saturday.

It would just make too much sense.

How would it make sense? Bernier is the starter and looked pretty rusty after a two-week layoff.

I think he needs another chance to get his rhythm going again, not another break right off the bat.

They not only were missing Tavares but also Frans Nielsen, who's a pretty good 2nd line center in his own right.

Without having seen the game I wouldn't worry too much about this. It doesn't sound like Bernier was sharp which is uncharacteristic for him.

But this kind of thing happens. A team like the Isles will rally around having lost its consummate leader and the adversity may give them a boost for a while.

Hell, even the Sabres are 2-0 right now. It's easy to overachieve when there are no expectations.

True.  Without Tavares as their main leader, it'll be interesting to see just what type of season they make of it.

Since the Islanders (with Tavares) squeaked into a playoff spot last season, thanks to a productive team effort especially by Tavares himself, this year's playoff hopes seem more like a foregone conclusion.  Too bad the injury happened to Tavares.  Hope he recovers well.

So what you are expecting Bernier to start the remainder of the the games? A goalie has a stinker you play the back up from the next game. Besides, Reimer has never lost to the Habs.
