The Islanders are too good of a team to have the record they have (some of that is situational with their absurd road trip to start the season and then COVID).

Not a great time to be playing them while we are slumping.  Effort needs to be better today.

Spezza is due to have a better game.  The 4th line has been awful since he came back from suspension.

No Clifford on the line tonight so that's good.

Tavares has 3 points in 6 career games vs. his former team. It would sweet to see him break out tonight against the Isles. I'm not looking for a hat trick, but a goal and an assist would be really nice. Tough building though; and always a reminder of the sad comatose reality of the Leafs home crowd which is not going to change, even post-pandemic.

I think you are going to realize how much acoustics matter.  The new arena doesn't have anywhere near the same level of noise.  Not to say that the ACC is deafening but the broadcast does a poor job of picking up crowd noise.

That makes sense. Did you ever go to a game at the old Nassau Coliseum? I'm told that it was a pretty incredible eardrum-damaging experience.
