Game Notes

TOR
?Andersen (4-3-0, 2.75 GAA, .910 Sv%) will likely start for the Leafs
?The Leafs go back on the road after losing 2 in a row at home where they were outscored 7-1
?No line-up changes are expected, with the exception of the always possible Johnsson/Ennis swap

WPG
?Hellebuyck (4-2-1, 2.83 GAA, .909 Sv%) will likely start for the Jets
?Patrik Laine is off to a somewhat slow start with just 3 goals and 5 points in 9 games so far. He's played on a line with Little and Ehlers so far all season, but it looks like Winnipeg will be bumping him up to the top line to try and get him going
?Ehlers has also struggled so far this season, with 0 goals and just 3 points in 9 games. Going back to late last season and the playoffs, his goalless streak now stands at 26 games

Not that I'm complaining, since 7 p.m. games are ideal for my bedtime, but the fact that Toronto is in town and Winnipeg has to move their game to 6:00 p.m. local time is why the rest of the league hates the Leafs. :P

Yeah, it's great.

Should note that this game will be on Sportsnet One and Sportsnet 360. The main channel has the World Series on.

The Jets played Monday and the Leafs have been idle since Saturday. The Jets also play Friday while the Leafs again will sit idle between Jets' games. Let's show some hustle and a "harder work ethic". We should have more in the tank than them.

Dermott hurt? Sick? Waived? Traded? Holding out?
Edit: They're going with sick. Babs confirms he'll miss tonight's game.

Also, why is Babcock still trying to make Tyler Ennis a thing?

For once you can actually blame media outside Toronto for this one.  It's a national broadcast on NBC tonight.

14-13 Leafs.
5-4 Leafs, 3 goals for Laine VS Matthews 2.

Ya I hope Laine doesn't wake up tonight. He's done absolutely jack s**t all year. 3 goals all on the power play for the one trick pony. Cover him on the point on the PP is all I say. Don't let him beat you. Anyone else but him kid annoys me don't know what it is. Probably all the Jet fans who think he's a better player than #34 LOL.

This scoring slump is perplexing.  1 goal in the last 7 periods.

Not gonna win a lot of games that way.
