Yup. See ya Sparky. With the new kids coming in, I dont think the Leafs will worry about him getting picked off waivers should it happen and after last year I don't see it happening.herman said:https://twitter.com/capfriendly/status/1144396436886474759
We got a backup
To be fair. Hutch was with the Leafs during the playoffs and KK got on a roll. He also went 14 and 5 with tge Marlies. I dont know if he'll be bavking up Freddie but Im seriiusly doubting Sparks will get a sniff eith the Leafs unless its an emergency. I think that bridge has been burnt.CarltonTheBear said:Having a back-up who couldn't regain the AHL net back from Kasimir Kaskisuo isn't exactly super encouraging. I'm fine with him or Sparks as the #3 but I still hope they have slightly higher aspirations for the back-up.
Nik the Trik said:Yeah, this seems unlikely to be the final say on the matter of who backs up Freddy. If anything it reads more as having a plan B if they can't find someone better.

Well, I mean, whatever Dubas plans a 1 year/700k contract isn't committing anyone to any course of action.
It probably does mean we're not adding anyone else to the pot. We're lining up for a complete repeat of last year. Same forwards, worse D, same goalies, same head coach. I want some change.Bullfrog said:Nik the Trik said:Zanzibar Buck-Buck McFate said:Nik the Trik said:Yeah, this seems unlikely to be the final say on the matter of who backs up Freddy. Agreed; this signing means nothing, really. He might be signed for the Marlies for all we know.
I never heard Dubas say the roster is set. Opening night is a long way away. Give it time.cabber24 said:It probably does mean we're not adding anyone else to the pot.
