It'll be funny if Boston slaughters Tampa in 5 games. Then we'll be like "I guess Leafs were better than we thought"

Brayden makes his Points!

Lightning forward Brayden Point's three assists helped Tampa Bay tie this series at one game apiece in Monday's 4-2 win over Boston.

Games 3 & 4 will be played at the "Gaw-den" in Boston.

Nice win for TB last night. They smothered the Bruins. huge difference I see with TO/TB is the play of that Tampa D. they play smart and usually get that puck right out of zone. With us we would try 5. 6 7 etc times when under pressure and always throw it right back to the Bruins D at point. Also they fight for every single puck..Hopinh the Bolts can continue this strong play moving forward

So...Marchand keeps licking other players and thats something the NHL apparently can't deal with.

I'm unsure why licking someone isn't a penalty but Sean Avery dancing in front of Martin Brodeur caused the NHL to go ballistic.

Maybe an unsportsmanlike penalty would stop this nonsense.

Or you could, you know, suspend him.

I honestly think that an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty would send Cassidy over the edge on it...I think it would do the trick.

It's pretty much the same thing as spitting.  That can get you a major penalty.  Why Marchand continues to get a soft hand from the league despite his antics is beyond me.  If this was Kadri doing it I'm sure they would have found a way to penalize him.

Meanwhile if I do that in my job I lose my medical license and probably spend time in jail.

I don't think a minor penalty is good enough for him at this point.  He acts like a child over and over again.  He got away with a fine after a crosscheck to the face of a defenseless player at the end of the regular season.  He got away with his lick on Komarov.  He got away with everything else he did in the Toronto series.  He gets away with his lick last night.  He hasn't learned from his multitude of fines and suspensions over his career.  I think it's time to start treating him like the child he is and take away his toys.

I think it would "do the trick" in that he might move on to something else or keep up his usual nonsense. But a real league would actually examine the behaviour here as part of a pattern and would be looking to send a message directly to Marchand.

Remember when a report came out from Friedman saying that the league contacted Marchand and told him to stop licking people and the league came out and said "we absolutely did not do that"? Good times.
