Official Ottawa Senators Thread

This works, too.

TSNBobMcKenzie: "@Senators: Chris Neil suffered fractured left thumb, will be out indefinitely." Even before this, OTT was leaning towards not trading him.

The best part of this comment is that it reminds everyone that Chris Neil was given a NTC.

just like our own David Clarkson....    ::)

Say what you want about Clarkson but he did get his contract as one of the most highly regarded UFA's coming off one season where scored 30 goals and another where he was at a 26 goal pace. Neil got his NTC after a season where he scored at a 7 goal pace and a career high of 16.

This Hammond kid is propelling the Sens right back into the playoff hunt.  Only 4 points out of the Bruins, which surprises me considering I thought Boston would have started pulling away from the pack by now.

Boston's drop has been more insane for me. In January I wrote that they were on pace for 98 points and it looked like the top-8 spots in the East were all locked up. A month and a half later and now they're only on pace for 93 points and that final spot is a 3, maybe 4 team race.

Honestly I'm a little torn on what to root for. The Senators missing the playoffs but probably ending up with a mediocre draft pick or the Senators making the playoffs, likely getting knocked out in the first round and not being in the lottery at all.

Didn't realize this until I just read DGB's latest column but the Hammond "kid" is 27, a month older than Reimer and six months older than Bernier.

Undrafted. Never heard of him. Sub .900 save% in the AHL this year. .910 last year. Nothing of note in his career since he left the BCHL in 2008-09.

What will they do now that Anderson is back?

Hammond is the reason they're as close as they are...

Erroneous. We've been getting goaltending all year. Team in front of them figured out how to stop losing by 1 goal every other game. It's got more to do with Methot returning and the big guns are all going. Karlsson having another Norris worthy season. Z closing in on his first 20 / 20 season. The Hoff and his 23 goals.
