Game Notes
EDM
-Stuart Skinner (19-11-4, 2.66 GAA, .903 Sv%) will likely start for the Oilers
-John Klingberg made his Oilers debut on Thursday night. He was a -1 while playing 16:39
-Klingberg and Ekholm both missed practiced on Friday due to an illness. Their status is obviously questionable going into Saturday
TOR
-Joseph Woll (17-10-0, 2.64 GAA, .908 Sv%) will likely start for the Leafs
-Tavares and Knies were both regular participants at practice on Friday in their regular spots in the line-up. Full confirmation on their status for this game is still required but there's a good chance of their returns, especially Knies

Tavares being back before the break is a nice surprise even if it isn't tonight. Knies was expected to only miss a few games. Even with both of them back the last few run of games should be a strong reminder that our bottom six is going to kill us in the playoffs when they provide absolutely zero offense

I kind of said this before but no matter how much better suited Dom is to playing wing until (or if) an addition is made he needs to stay at C. The last few games proved that, and I'd imagine this line-up means Berube feels the same way. McMann-Domi-Robertson has shown flashes of solid play before, hopefully now that the top-9 is healthy again it can get back to that a little more.

So I get that Matthews and Marner are, respectively, the team's #1 and #2 players and deserve "top line" status, but man, this forward corps has significant holes defensively and strigently keeping your best defensive centre and best overall defensive forward on the same line really exacerabtes that issue. Marner with Tavares makes soooo much sense (to me, anyway) at the very least..

Leafs just surviving Edmonton’s speedy cycle, and then burning them on a brief possession by Nylander finally playing with someone who can pass to him. Willy already has 3 dangerous chances and buries the one from farthest out.
