I'm surprised that Broll is getting another look. I would have figured that Colborne would have the extra game. Maybe it's a maintenance thing.

Carlyle talks a lot about pairs as opposed to lines, I suspect Lupul will be paired with Kadri.

With both McLaren and Orr hurt, Broll is the type of player a Carlyle coached team will be looking to keep around. Colborne seems to have fallen out of favour a little (and, really, he hasn't been great so far in the pre-season), and could find himself on waivers this weekend.

Yeah, to me it looks like opening night will be:
JVR-Boz-Kessel
Lup-Kadri-Kulemin
Raymond-Bolland-Ashton
????-McClement-Orr

Where ???? could be Colborne, Devane, Broll, even Bodie or Smith(?).  And it's looking less and less like Colborne. (and of course whoever it is gets bumped as of game 11)

Those lines are from practice today and are what we can expect to see tonight. They might not be what we see on opening night though of course.

But yeah, why Bolland is with Lupul and Kulemin is beyond me. I swear if Kadri gets Grabbo'ed this season I'm going to lose it.

I certainly agree that Colborne hasn't been doing himself any favours with his play thus far. In saying that though, I hope the Leafs don't put him on waivers, as I think he'd be plucked. We may have no other choice if he doesn't step up, which would be unfortunate.

I think it was Colborne's spot to lose, and I think he may have lost it.

I think you're all avoiding the REAL question: Will the booing continue?

Funny, I was actually wondering this the other day. Maybe not tonight, but I think enough Leaf fans will make the trek over the border during the regular season to keep the tradition alive.

I wonder if Devane is the guy that sticks around, he seems to have shown more than Orr, McLaren, Bodie, Colborne, Smith and Broll so far.

He's on a par with Ashton as having a solid camp.

No Rielly tonight?  I figured they'd want to see what he can do these last two games before making a decision on him.

With the Franson signing, the decision has probably already been made.

I do too.  I think the pairings tonight are what you'll see on opening night.

Well those are "projected" lines... maybe someone got mixed up, switched Kadri/Bolland?  They saw #43 when it was really #63?

(or Randy's master plan is Raymond-Kadri-Clarkson and Lupul-Bolland-Kulemin because he is cray cray)

I know 50,000+ who will be on New Years, myself included.

Agreed. I know Orr seems to be a lock but maybe Devane supplants McLaren.

I don't think so.  McLaren is a bad a$$.  I'm sure he's a lock.
