My heart says Leafs but my mind says Bruins.  Is there a meeting between the head and the heart?  *sigh*

Just go with the heart, there are no consequences for being wrong.  But we will shame you if you go with the Bruins.

I'm not "going with them", just prediction as to who will win the series.  Of course I want the Leafs to win.  :-\

I saw this being discussed a few pages back, but I feel so emotionless right now.  I'm excited but I'm not.  I'm nervous but I'm not.  It's been way too long that I can't remember just how intense and absorbed one can get.

I'm sure that changes at 7:10 tomorrow evening however.

I was honestly pretty 'meh' about the whole this as well, but HS' posts have kinda whipped me into a frenzy.

What's the shame in having fun? Win or lose, who cares - just win!

That's what I meant by go with them btw, as in picking them to win.  Wasn't suggesting you were a Bruins fan. *puke*

Boston's lines in practice:

Milan Lucic-David Krejci-Nathan Horton
Brad Marchand-Patrice Bergeron-Tyler Seguin
Kaspars Daugavins-Chris Kelly-Jaromir Jagr
Daniel Paille-Gregory Campbell-Shawn Thornton
Jay Pandolfo-Carl Soderberg-Rich Peverley

Zdeno Chara-Dennis Seidenberg
Andrew Ference-Johnny Boychuk
Wade Redden-Adam McQuaid
Aaron Johnson-Dougie Hamilton

Tuukka Rask
Anton Khudobin

If we are ever going to beat Boston in a series this is it. No Thomas (I'm not a big Rask believer) plus they are on a tilt.

This first game is huge. Hopefully we can play our speed game and set the tone.

Juicy possibilities. Reimer outplaying Rask and Kessel with a big series.

It goes without saying that it's been too long since we got to enjoy the Leafs in the post season. So after all these years you would think just another 24 hours would be easy but I have to admit I am feeling very impatient!

What a sad testament to the failures of the franchise that I must be your inspiration...  :(

But inspire you, I shall!  I prescribe 4 car flags, and 2 Leaf facial tattoos to be applied twice a week per playoff round.  You're going to need to get good and bloodthirsty and watch the Kapanen hit 10 or 20 times, but watch the subsequent Roenick goal only once, minutes before tomorrow night's game, to get good and motivated.  Then crank The Boys Are Back in Town on the stereo and settle in for an AWESOME LEAF PLAYOFF GAME!

Have one shot of the liquor of your choice per Leaf shot on goal, and hopefully you'll be drunk by the 3rd period.

Started my playoff beard since they clinched the spot. It's itchy and pissing me off, but I'm glad I'm in a career position that I can grow one as I couldn't when the Leafs were last in the playoffs.  My old name was LeaferNE which doesn't matter because I mostly lurk.  Been following you folks since the plaidworks days.

I think a real key to this series is getting all up in Rask's business. That dude is a hot-head and seems to be more easily thrown off his game than most.

Captain Obvious here.

This thread and TMLfans delightfully reminds me what makes the Leafs so great: The Fans.

You guys just come together here and be as awesome as you are. I love it. I hope against all odds that they can take this far, just so I can witness more fan joy.

Cheesy, but, I love you guys.  :)

GO LEAFS GO

Bozak says he'll play game 1.

But he's unsure if he can take face-offs.

At least that's not his biggest contribution out there.  :-\

Can he still defer all offense to Kessel and make passes to him regardless of how wide open/quality of scoring opportunity he has for himself?

We lose a huge chunk of our offence against Boston with the disappearance of Kessel.

We need other guys to step up big time. Kulemin, Grabo, MacArthur, Frattin, Kadri, Lupul etc. all have to produce offensive chances, while also limiting Bostons.

I'm pretty pessimistic. Boston will no doubt play a cycle heavy game, which is one of our biggest weaknesses.. I see us getting hemmed in our zone a lot. They'll likely dump the puck in heavy on Gunnar and Franson (Ones soft, One's slow), and drive hard to the outside on Dion (has trouble turning).. Reimer has to stand on his head and be above and beyond what is has done this season just to match Rask.

But enough of that. Games played on the ice.

I'm not really sure how I used to deal with the nerves.  Judging by the nerves I've had in close/OT games this season that weren't even the playoffs, I will likely be a nervous wreck for every second.

I'm with you. I'm not sure how to prepare for the playoffs anymore.

Beer is chilled
Stinky bag of kind waiting for some love
Playoff Pasta for dinner
Lounge chair laid out in the freshly cut pasture
Add laptop and the gf and kids doing other things...

Throw in the Playoffs that actually mean something.
This recipe is priceless!

GO LEAFS GO!

P.S Nice to see some old members coming back out of the woodwork. HS especially lol
