Rick Nash potentially available

how about Kessel for Nash straight up?

Why?

I think Burkes zeroing in on Carter myself. He confirmed tonight that there has been no firm offer made to Columbus for Nash, but at the same time he did seem to tiptoe around the subject. Just a hunch, but maybe Carter's the target and not Nash.

Rumour from fan590 is the Leafs have offered

Kadri, Schenn, and a 1st for Nash and a 3rd

Bluejackets want Kulemin in the deal

I don't know... lots to give up, now... if they want Kulemin in the deal maybe Burke can sweet then to take a fat contract back, like Komisarek...

Kadri+Komisarek+Kulemin and a 1st = Nash ?

Komi has a no move.  No way he waives for Columbus.

That's not totally accurate.  Komisarek provides a list for the NTC teams. Hopefully Columbus isn't on it.

I was thinking the exact same thing though G51, if the rumoured deal was:

Kadri, Schenn, and a 1st for Nash and a 3rd

and Columbus wanted Kulemin then remove Schenn and the Columbus 3rd and add Kulemin + Komisarek

        Kadri, (Komisarek+Kulemin), and a 1st for Nash

That works for Toronto's salary cap.

If Mike Richards who is equally talented in most respects on a lower cap hit was traded for:

Brayden Schenn, Wayne Simmonds and a second-round draft pick in 2012

I think the Leaf trade is close but maybe another young asset needs to be included like Blacker or Holzer.

Kadri, Komisarek, Kulemin, Blacker and a 1st for Nash

This year the Leafs have a 1st & 2nd pick.  Nashville has the 3rd pick, NJ has the 4th pick (for Steckel), Leafs have their 5th pick, 6th as well as Anaheim's 6th pick, Leafs have NYR's 7th pick (John Mitchell) and Calgary has the Leaf's 7th pick (Wayne Primeau).

At this point, I just want Nash traded somewhere, so we can stop talking about it - though, he does provide a nice smokescreen for all the other rumours that would otherwise be flying around.

;D

I was trying to think of a different player to insert in the rumours but couldn't off the top of my head.

It'll at least stop temporarily when the deadline passes, but we are probably going to hear some pretty nutty trade rumours on deadline day with regards to Nash.

Thank you, Mr. Blanket of Wetness.  :P

Yeah, and if/when he's not moved, we'll hear them again leading up to the draft, through out the summer, early in next season, etc.

Huberdeau?

Does it strike anybody else as odd that Sundin was/is blasted for not being able to carry the Leafs into the Stanley Cup finals (but made the play-offs about 10 times in a little over a decade), yet most people are wetting themselves over the idea of getting Nash, a guy that in a decade carried Columbus to all of one (1) play-off series... which he got 3 points as they lost in 4 straight?
BTW, I'm one of the above that does want Nash here.

It would strike me as odd if it was the same people but I think most hockey fans are bright enough to not tie a team's success entirely to one player.

My casual, ad hoc analysis suggests that most hockey fans are NOT bright enough to not tie a team's success entirely (or mostly) to one player... But I think that this site, fortunately, is not representative of most hockey fans.

Looking less and less likely that Nash will come to LA, but Carter is still a strong possibility for the Kings.

Real_ESPNLeBrun: If LA can complete a Jeff Carter deal, that would basically leave NYR and SJ for Nash...

Media never sees a Burke trade coming anyway.

While that's true, based on what he said yesterday and how he said it, I don't think he's all that serious about Nash right now. Then again, I don't think Columbus is all that serious about moving Nash before the deadline either.

Are the Leafs going to be left at the altar again?

Trade deadline possibilities...

Negative outlook..

Nash to The Rangers, Carter to LA. No other big names move. ( or at least not to the Leafs)

Positive outlook...

Leafs score Nash or Carter and find a good veteran goaltender, or a surprise top 6 comes out of nowhere and is traded to Toronto.

Which is more likely to happen?
