Rick Nash potentially available

The blogger for Columbus on Hockeybuzz has a list of what Toronto might have to give up for Nash. As much as I like Nash; if this guy's list is close to accurate then it is far too much to give up.

Burke will use an arm lock on the Columbus GM to give up Nash for far less than people are expecting.

The dude is dreaming in Technicolor if he really believes any team is going to give up 6 high value assets to add Nash and a back up goalie. That proposal of his is just absurd.

I'd give up the whole 2nd line to get this guy.  He's a thoroughbred that doesn't come along very often and will be very effective for at least five excellent years in B&W.

Grabovski has to be re-signed in order for him to be a viable trading piece for Columbus.

Kulemin, Kadri, Gardiner and a 1st might get it done. Even so, they are replacing Nash with a grand total of what, 10-12 goals?

Replace Gardiner with Franson and I'd do that deal, but I'd still be a little reluctant.

Hmm...please provide proof.  I've never heard that before except from some no-name tweeter or some forum post stating this claim.

Yeah. This claim gets thrown around a lot, but, no one has provided any actual quotes from legitimate sources yet.

Nathan Horton supposedly did not want to play in a hockey mad city.  He's done ok since moving to one.

No way am I trading Gardiner. Not for a perennial 65 point guy like Nash.

I think Nash is closer to a point a game player than 65 points if he plays with someone good.  Although I don't think Burke will trade Gardiner, he knows the Leafs have something special here.

While I think that might be underselling Nash a little bit (though, I think a lot of others oversell him), I don't make the deal either. All in all, Nash is just going to be too expensive to acquire - especially mid-season.

@Aportzline Rick Nash, Jeff Carter and Fedor Tyutin absent from practice this morning. Checking.

ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Columbus doesn't play again until Saturday. Probably just maintenance days/keep them away from the media days.

Well, excuse me for not wanting to increase the amount of ridiculous trade proposals.

It is getting out of hand, I think every Leaf has been in a trade proposals in the last few days. must mean Burke has pluged all the front office leaks, and all the media clowns cant figure his next move out.  lolololol, I love it when the media are grasping for a tidbit of news, it kinda shows ya just how lame they are.

With the Kessel deal starting to look better from a Leafs stand point, who would object to a similar deal for Nash?
Say, this years and next years 1st's and Schenn. Would that be enough?

EDIT: you could then dangle Mac and Connolly for picks or prospects to make up for it.

Stop it, silly. You are not allowed to acknowledge the Kessel deal was anything other than a colossal failure through and through.
