Round 1: (A2) Tampa Bay vs. (A3) Montreal

I'm looking forward to the karmic rebalancing Montreal is sure to experience in the second round.

Well if (when) Boston advances, they will make Montreal weep.

Liked Subban's go-around on that Habs goal.  He's smart, he's talented, he's loud, he's brash...hey, sounds like a Bruin!
(Wish the Leafs had had a such guy who'd light things up).

So, are we seeing in Tampa Bay what would have become of our Leafs had they made the playoffs this year?

If so, I'd much rather have the 8th overall pick and be better prepared for the show next season.

I have to admit, I really liked his effort on that play. Kid can play. Would love to see him on the Leafs if he decides to go the free agent route.

Tampa really does look like a team that's in over their heads here. Probably shouldn't be so surprising considering the lack of playoff experience from so many on their roster and their head coach.

Huh I was wrong.

Funny how the pundits on sportsnet were saying how Tampa needs to be better, without mentioning once that Bishop was probably the reason they were in the playoffs to begin with, and that the series would probably be 2-1 instead of 3-0.

And there's the third habs goal, this one's probably done.

I'll admit, this series has been an easy pass so far. Just haven't found it to be of much interest.

Yeah, having Bishop in there would have made things a bit different. I still think the Habs win, but they probably don't get as many soft goals.

Also, I heard Briere in an interview today say that everyone thought Tampa would win - without going back to the start of this thread, I thought there were more people picking Montreal to win.

I'm going to enjoy when Montreal runs into an actual NHL goalie.

I'll be torn. They'll face Boston assuming they win their series, and I really want to see somebody beat Boston. It definitely won't be Montreal though.

Everybody wants to think that they're the underdog. Without Bishop Montreal was the clear favourite.

A weak PP call for Montreal, in Montreal, with 2:00 left in a tie game?  Wow, never saw that one coming.

What a joke after letting everything go.

Could somebody tell Montreal's GM that he didn't just win the Cup?

A sweep could be the worst thing for them, too. They'll likely have a week and a half off before the start of the next round. It's not uncommon for teams that get that kind of break to come out flat when the next round gets underway.

I'm usually not one to complain a lot about the refs, but that's I'm thinking as well... just did not seem like an appropriate call.
