Round 1: Canadiens (A1) vs. Senators (W1)

For anyone who thinks that Ottawa has a chance in this series, this is the Montreal Canadiens we're talking about here.

The MONTREAL...

CANADIENS.

As with every other MTL series of the last 20 years, they will either lose quickly or get heavily outplayed in every game and their goalie will save them.

I remember playing Montreal in the 2010 playoffs with Pittsburgh, and before Game 7 Dan Bylsma came into the locker room and held up the scoring chance stats for the series. It was something ridiculous like 80 to 18. We dominated, but we simply could not beat Jaroslav Halak.

Ah, well that was a little anti-climactic. You don't have a Spartans video you can link or anything?

this is my fondest wish.....this series goes seven games, the two teams beat the crap out of eachother and at least one of them obviously will be eliminated. Leaving the other to get schooled four straight in the next round. The two teams I hate the most meeting eachother in the first round, yay!

As the early 2000s become a distant memory, I find it harder to find reasons to hate the Senators.

I feel you, and I've actually enjoyed watching the Sens in their stretch drive.

That said, I would like to see them crush the Habs 8-0, four games in a row, and then see a team-wide case of gout that doesn't allow the players to push off on their skates in the second round.

Kinda glad there is no volume in this bar. I am spared from having to listen to the Gregg Zaun of hockey.

Found a nice HD stream without pop-ups for those of us outside of Canada:

Quick question, as someone who grew up outside of Canada, Montreal's prior successes always have an asterisk to me, they got to pick the best players from that region for a long time. That seems like a ridiculous advantage that I've never heard mentioned on a Canadian broadcast, what am I missing there?

Markov scores! 1-0 sens!

/what?

Also curious as to how there can be an assist when the habs clearly shot it into their own net.

Seriously PK? You are going to complain about trying to hit the puck with a high stick and getting a face instead? Pick your battles.

Edit. Wait how was that NOT a penalty? No sound here.
