Round 1: Canucks (P2) vs. Flames (P3)

Calgary 4  Vancouver 2  Calgary leads series 2 games to 1.

Talk about hard-hitting, fast-paced, physical hockey (coupled with a voraciously loud fanbase cheering your team on).  That's the way the Calgary Flames liked it and they showed up the Canucks to take the series lead in Game 3.

The Flames took a lead and added to it while Vancouver had taken too many penalties affording Calgary that opportunity, which also saw 18 yr.old Flames rookie Sam Bennett score his first NHL playoff goal.  What's interesting about Bennett is that he missed his season with a shoulder surgery and was out of the lineup until the last game of the regular season. Bennett's goal gave the Flames a convincing 3-1 lead.

The Canucks goaltender Eddie Lack seemed to have had some trouble in tracking the puck with the Flames creating plenty of traffic in front of the net.  Calgary's intense game overall actually seemed too much for the Canucks as a whole to handle.

Once again, these two teams were at each other near game's end as fists erupted between Vancouver's Burrows & Calgary's Kris Russell, as well as between the Canucks Bieksa & the Flames Ferland.

There may be the potential for a suspension on a questionable head hit delivered by the Canucks Dan Hamhuis to the Flames Sam Bennett.

Game 4 is Tuesday in Calgary at 9PM ET.

How sweet it is.....  :D  :D

Very happy for Matt Stajan, Joe Colborne, Brian Burke and the rest of the Flames organization.  But especially for Matt.  Nice goal there, Stajan...

What an entertaining game.  They'll be in tough against the Ducks but they are fun to watch and easy to cheer for.
