Marincin in but Holl scratched? Was Babcock watching the same game on Thursday?

I personally thought Rielly and Hainsey were the worst two D on the ice Thursday.
Hainsey was def terrible. I thought Rielly was off as well. Marincin was the worst. Funny thing, no one really complained about Zaitsev so that's a good thing I guess and yes I'm reaching for positives!

Marty will redeem himself.  (I hope.)

That other thing the other night simply proved that none of our D can handle a beastlike forecheck along the boards.  The brain boys behind the bench really need to come up with a strategy that minimizes the kinds of hits that took out Gardiner last week & caused our entire D to unravel like a big ball of pink fuzzy yarn on Thursday.

BTW CTB, not to be too pedantic but please recheck the spelling of BUF37's name -- it's a German name that arguably translates into "guy from a mid-sized town."  :) :-X :P 8)

I thought Ennis was playing well...but I didn't watch the Isles game.

Or maybe he's banged up.

I'd imagine they'll be rotating those two, plus the three defencemen in and out for the next month.

Every person that things the Leafs are better off with Gardiner out of the picture should take a second to look at our starting D for this game, and shudder.

Unfortunately (or fortunately), the Leafs will probably be better off without Gardiner at $6-7 million/season. But for now? Yeah, him out of the lineup is terrible. And Marincin...  :-\ I want him to be good, just like I want Sparks to be good, but I think both are a pipe dream.

True. The Leafs will need to improve from within. Lilypad, Rosen, Sandin will hopefully be ready soon. As for Gardiner. Yes we are weaker without him for now but like mentioned we simply can't pay him 6-7 mill a year. I miss Dermott more then Gards because he is a future D man for us and I think he is a better "defence"man then Jake..

Marincin has seen some regular work lately, so decision making aside, his legs are more game shape than Oz or Holl and neither of those two are good enough to displace Hainsey up top, so cycling through the two righties makes sense.

In other news, Babcock is in love with Moore(?s butt).

Love Dermott, but he?s not more than 70% of Gardiner?s ability at this stage of his career.
