Sabres vs. Maple Leafs - Apr. 15th, 7:00pm - TSN4, TSN 1050

Statement of the obvious: they have been playing really well.

Didn't mind L3 & L4 tonight

Rielly-Myers & Mermis-Carlo seemed to do ok.

Holmberg is another one on the team who seemed to underachieve much of the season but seems to be finding his game
The underachievers playing closer to their potential seems to be a key difference in their improved play

Also, if my maths are correct, Stolarz just pulled ahead of Hellebuyck for the league lead in save percentage.
Yup he went from .923 to .926 to take the lead. Winnipeg has 1 game left but it's possible Hellebuyck doesn't start. If that holds he'll lead the league in save percentage two seasons in a row, albeit in much less games than other starters.

I took a road trip with buddies to the game last night. It was way more fun than watching a game at Scotia Bank.

Seats were incredible at 1/3rd to 1/4th the cost (we were 2 rows from glass near the Leaf bench so it felt like we were in a hockey aquarium.... totally surreal actually).

And the Leaf fans were real fans with way more energy and vocal participation than the typical audience in the lower bowl of Scotia who usually get comped corporate seats. These were people who made the trek to Buffalo and spent their own money.

Gonna do the road trip again next season. But hard to beat a game where you get to witness live a 1st place clinch and 100 and 400 all in one night.

The best part of it was watching the level of Stolarz excellence aided with a DCore that cleared the area infront of him and blocked shots, which we watched like fish at an aquarium.

We have the best goalie in the NHL right now who is a monster at 6 foot 6.
