Senators (7) vs. Penguins (1)

sens have the better goaltending and defense.  Pens just have the offense in their favor.

Problem is they have the offense way in their favour.  They have like 5 forwards that are better than any the Sens have.  Anderson will have to keep playing like the best in the world.

Spezza not travelling with the team to Pittsburgh, but he is practicing.  Rumours/speculation have him returning for game 3 or 4 at home.

There are very few things in life I want as badly as I want Matt Cooke to injure Erik Karlsson on a borderline play early in this series. The reaction to that would be, hands down, the funniest thing ever.

You never know, it might just be the other way around.

I think the Senators have a really good chance of pulling this off.  Anderson is playing lights out, MacLean has this team playing extremely well, and their main offensive force is likely to come back for this series.

I'm not going to lie -- I was getting ahead of myself and was excited by the possibility of a Toronto-Ottawa semi-final.  :(

4-I Final score for Pittsburgh.  Even though the Pens Sidney Crosby was a non-factor in this game, Pittsburgh's other scorers took up the slack, namely Evgeni Malkin, who a force to be reckoned with.  The Pens played a physical game from the start. Especially telling was Brooks Orpik's "thundering" mid-ice check on Ottawa's Eric Gryba.  Gryba may have been slightly concussed.  No return to the game by Gryba.

The Sens looked pitifully disorganized defensively and undisciplined upfront.  Maybe it was the long rest or maybe it was the fact that Pittsburgh came out flying.  Whatever it was had better be corrected, otherwise Ottawa won't stand much of a chance to win anything in this series. Hmm.

another series where I really don't give a crap. Since I've always hated Ottawa, logic dictates I want Pittsburgh to win??but I hate them too. *sigh*

A hat trick for Crosby and a victory for Pittsburgh.

Final score:  Pens 4  Sens 3

A goaltending change midway in the second period by Ottawa didn't translate into a win, even though Goaltender Robin Lehner made some key saves robbing the Penguins of potential goals.  Still, Crosby managed to find a way to get the puck past him, vaulting Pittsburgh to victory. Nothing the Senators did could stop Crosby on this night.

Speaking of Sidney Crosby, he is now the fifth fastest NHLer to amass 100 career points in the post-season in just 75 games. He joins elite company with the likes of Mario Lemieux, Mike Bossy and several others.

Im no Penguins fan but they stand a good chance of beating the Bruins along the way and Im all for that.. Go Pens.. Oh and seeing Ottawa lose is pretty cool too

Yes, I think so.  If there is one team that can handle and dispel the Bruins in these playoffs, is Crosby and his Penguins.  (You know who I'll be cheering for).  :)
