The Habs Thread - Reloaded

Boston Leaf said:
I don't know but I have stopped rooting for them to lose each night.. If they are playing someone under us I want them to win. Hence I hope they beat the Senators tongiht in regualtion. we are not catching montreal

Which means they'll probably start losing to every team below the Leafs.

Just noticed the title of the thread. Perhaps time to change it...?

PS I ain't no Hab lover. I hate the midgets.

And to be politically correct I mean only the hockey playing Habs player midgets.

They still suck in our hearts so the title is appropriate.

Price pulled for the second game in a row after giving up six against Philly last night. I wonder what Healy would say about this.

He's been .897 save% over his last 10 and over his last 20. And there's no doubt that it's not all the fault of the skaters in front of him.

Let's get the Luongo to Habs rumours going!!  :)

Wonder if there's anything going on with him injury wise?  He's usually solid, have no idea what's happening there.

Habs goaltending just as stellar as ever tonight - 5 goals against through 2.

If this were a normal season, this is about the time you'd think the wheels might start to fall off.

They tried starting Budaj but he allowed 3 goals in the first. Price came in and he allowed 3 more with 11 mins to play in the third. Not sure what is going on with them.

The Leafs still have a shot. If they can pick up 2 pts on the Habs over their next four games, they'll be 2 pts behind facing the Habs in the final game of the season at the ACC. The Leafs have a good shot at winning the tiebreaker if they beat them in regulation.

I don't know if there's any conceivable way the Habs could drop from 2nd to 5th on the last game of the season, but if so, it would amuse me greatly.

Wouldn't surprise me if it does come down to the final game, either for home ice or to decide whether Habs win the division or not.

They could, in theory. Boston has a game that night as well. If things fall just right . . .

Boston lost the season series to Montreal and are behind them by 1 ROW. The Bruins best chance would be to beat them by a point or they must gain 2 ROWs on Montreal to take the tiebreaker. But the Bruins do have a game in hand to help pick up those points or a ROW. They blew a 2-1 lead in the final 30 seconds of tonight's game against the Sabres.

Sportsclubstats gives the Bruins a 71% chance of finishing second to the Habs 27% (while the Sabres games was in OT).

Boston doesn't have a completely easy schedule facing Pittsburgh, Washington, Ottawa and Philadelphia who have been 6-4 over their last 10.

So I also agree that it's possible.

And like HS, would love to see it.  :)

Well, Boston would have their last game on April 28th against the Sens, so it could happen shortly thereafter...

Another rough night for Price. He's been pretty bad in his last 5 of 6, but looking at his numbers for the last 15 were kind of surprising: 5-8-1, .882SV%, 3.04GAA. His SV% is down to .905 on the year.

I know that the playoffs are a new season and all, but if I am the Habs, I'm a little worried about goaltending going into them...
