I'm starting to sour on Stewart a little bit. I mean, he excelled playing in a more open system in Colorado and then struggled when he moved to a more defensive system in St. Louis. Isn't the latter a little closer to what we'll be playing under Carlyle?

I don't think it's the system, I think it's Stewart maturing and being ready to play every night.  The guy should be able to play any system thrown at him but its a matter of him showing up every night. So to me that means the right coach can figure out how to keep him motivated, he will take off.

It's a bit of a buy low opportunity in one sense, or if the trade revolves around Kulemin then it's a trade of a struggling player for another one.

Stewart may not return to 30 goal status but he will throw his weight around a lot, has great wheels and would a great size upgrade to the top nine with plenty of upside.  We need all that stuff.

I would make Chris Stewart a priority target right after these playoffs.  He's in and out of the lineup in the post season and has had trouble sticking in Hitch's books during the regular season too.  He has consistency issues but has great skill, upside and is an enormous frame, plays highly physical and will fight.

Hitch seems to be getting enough of that play from the rest of his team... could see something happen with Stewart as they try to address other areas.

There was talk here some time ago about RFA for RFA, player with huge potential for player with huge potential, player who may need a change of scenery for player who may need a change of scenery. - Stewart for Kulemin.

It's something I'd look at.

Not me I think Kulemin rebounds big time. I believe Kulemin can be a 20-25 goal player with the upside of a very strong two way game.

Or, in other words, exactly the same as Stewart.

That's the Malachi crunch.

Thumbs up for good use of a pretty obscure reference. :)

LOL, might be obscure today, but for me growing up as a kid, Happy Days was THE SHOW.  Everyone loved the Fonz and all his sidekicks.  Pinky Tuscadero suffered the Malachi crunch, I was worried for her.

Oh, I know.  I was a little inclined to say obscure to everybody probably mid-30s and younger, not quite so much for us older folk.

I wonder if anybody can nail down exactly when Happy Days jumped the shark...?

It's not as if I/others believe Kulemin will never rebound from a rough year and that's why we are suggesting he be traded.

LOL, the phrase "jump the shark" comes from Happy Days when Fonz actually jumped a shark on a show.  Good times!

Yeah I figured, I wanted to explicitly point it out for the under-30 crowd.  Heyyyy-ohhh!!!

The only way that scene is more awesome is if Fonz was in his trademark jeans as opposed to the shorts.  Love how he can only trust Richie to drive the boat as he risks his life. *wipes a tear*
