The Official Pet Hall of Love/Fame for photos of members' beloved animal friends

My Oliver is gone now. He went very peacefully and is no longer in pain. Thanks for the good memories, my friend.

oh goodness, BF?. I'm a bawling little puddle here. Oliver, you were a beautiful, loyal and good, good, good doggie. Your person loved you very much and you're at Rainbow Bridge now where all good and loved doggies are no longer in any pain and will live eternally.

What a gorgeous doggy he was! (I love Labs!)

louis and bf, I'm so so sorry for your losses. They were both beautiful.

It does get easier but you never forget. It's been 8 yrs since our beloved boxer Leesha passed from cancer. There still isn't anything in the corner of the family room where she used to have her bed. My DH went out the week after she passed and got a pic blown up of her laying in from of the fireplace (her favourite spot) and it's on the wall above her spot and will always be there. She was a very very special dog and is still greatly missed.

We have a 6mth old puppy now and it's hard not to compare him to Leesha.

Big hugs to you both!

wow this is gut wrenching to me. So sorry louis for the loss of your cat and bullfrog to the loss of your dog.. I had a cat for 18 years. When I got divorcd he was all I asked for. One of the Worst days ever when I had ot put him down. It was about 5 years ago but willstill cry when thinking of him..

I'll never forget after putting my last dog down I thought I was ready but I was devastated.

Later that night I thought I heard that familiar clawing at the back door. Out of pure instinct/reflex/habit I went to the door and opened it to let my good ol buddy in. It wasn't until the moment that the door opened and he wasnt on the otherside that reality hit me upside the head. He was gone.

That was quite awhile ago but it still makes me sad to relive the loss.

Dogs, they can be so awesome..

Condolences on your losses... For those of you lucky enough to currently have a cat or a dog give them a loving scratch behind the ear for me.

Oliver was such a handsome boy. It's been nine days and I still step over him when I head down the hallway to bed. That first night was rough. I went to step over him (a black dog in the night is hard to see) and realized half-step that I was stepping over air. It hit me like a sucker punch to the gut.

I'm doing ok now; enjoying my memories of him. But I still see him from time to time. I still prepare myself to tell him to stop barking when someone knocks. i still start to go over to give him his good night pat on the head. It's those moments when it hurts the most. it's just as Odin describes. For the first few nights, when trying to go to sleep, all I could hear was the vet's voice over and over again, "he's gone now."

My wife's still having a very hard time of it. She hasn't gone a day without crying yet. He was her protector and companion.

(*sniff*) Heartwarming & heart-tugging...

awwwwwww, she LOVES it :-)

Our daughter just moved out with her puppy, our 100 pound Rottie cross has the house to himself again. He celebrated by bopping open the bedroom door with his head last night, climbed up onto the bed (Hubby is working nights) and just bounced around and made himself comfortable. I LOL'd aloud as he took his time finding his spot, flopped down and let out a huge sigh like he owned the place. Oh yeah, he does??.

Lol bobbyleafer.

And Lhf, I think I'd rather the dog than a snoring husband. Lol

If it is a bulldog you will have a snoring dog! My buddies bulldog can saw logs so loud. Lol.

oh, Miko snores. He also growls and chases squirrels in his sleep. Woofing and huffing in his dreams, he wakes up the whole freakin' house.

I get him back though. If he's sleeping on the living room couch during the Leaf game, he's gonna get the crap scared out of him every time the Leafs score and my Bud Light goes off. That frickin' thing is LOUD. :)

My dad left his bedroom door open and there was a bouquet of flowers which included lilies inside which my cat subsequently ate. Leaving him overnight at the animal hospital. I hope he's ok...

So my girlfriend and I adopted a kitten not too long ago, and we named him Jackson.  He's a super cute and super affectionate cat, and is great to have around the condo.

Well, this past Thanksgiving weekend, while we were out, Jax somehow figured out how to get into the garbage and ate one of those metal rings that's use to seal turkey, ham, cookie dough, etc - which eventually got stuck in his intestines.

Major surgery and $2500 later - Jax is back home with us.  Hopefully he's learned his lesson!

I'd say chicks dig scars, but while he was under, we had him neutered anyways - so I don't think he cares. :P

Ouchy, louisstamos, that looks painful for the kitty and I'm sure painful for your wallet! :-[

Poor baby, hope he's doing ok and he's very cute! Also, love the name.
