Well they both said "they heard" Kiprusoff was available and the likely destination is Toronto.  Maybe Feaster thinks he can get a first round pick for him, I wouldn't put that past him, but there's no way Nonis does that.

I'm sure the voices inside their respective heads tell them the most wondrous stories.

Rumour on HC at noon was Kiprusoff to Leafs for 1st rounder.

I'm not buying it, but I'm pretty sure the Leafs are still in the hunt for a veteran goaltender.

Pretty steep if its a 1st rounder. He's 36 yrs old.

I wouldn't exactly call what was said a rumour. More like completely baseless speculation by a couple of guys who have shown over and over again they have no idea when it comes to player values in trades or in free agency.

I remember when MacLean was adamant that Gustavsson would get millions on a multi year deal.

What sort of ridiculous fun-house mirror world is it we live in when MacLean, Milbury and Craig Button are paid good money to give their opinions on how to run a hockey team.

Well played.

Kypreos' damaged brain should not be trusted.

I really can't believe they're serious about it.  Even the host was like "a first rounder? that much?" and Kypreos went on about how Kiprusoff is an elite goalie, the old "are you kidding me?" line.  A 36-year old goalie and these guys are saying the Leafs should trade a 1st round pick for him.  The same Leafs in the middle of a 5 game winless drought and in danger of slipping into a top 10 draft pick Leafs.

Are you kidding me?  Let's trade our first round, potential top 10 pick for a goalie who might be retired in 3 years!  Sign me up!

I really hope the Habs change direction and hire McLean as GM with Kypreos as the assistant.

Welcome to the lead up to the trade deadline. The crazier the trade talk the more people that tune in. This one isn't going to happen, at least not for a first rounder.

Prediction: If Reimer can't get into the win column soon, the Leafs will get a veteran goaltender before the deadline.

His stats aren't even that amazing: http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=15587

A lot of .905-ish SV% seasons in there.

They have the an option on an goalie...McIntre with the Marlies who is lighting it up..maybe worth giving him a game or two

Not signed to an NHL contract. Would have to go through waivers to be sent back to the Marlies if he was.

Ok, I'm watching TSN and I'm pretty sure that Craig Button compared Gardiner to Bret Hedican and then extolled his potential as a 50 point player.  In what world does a 50 point player compare to Bret Hedican?

That's funny, I'm actually pretty sure somebody here made a Bret Hedican comparison a couple of weeks ago.

Yep.  Someone did.

Mr. Button obviously didn't do any research.  If he had, he would discover that Mr. Hedican never broke 30 points in a season.

So as LK so adroitly pointed out, 50 points and Bret Hedican do not belong in the same sentence.

In a world where luminaries like Craig Button are paid actual money to espouse their hockey knowledge to the masses.

That's hilarious.  As a rookie last year, Gardiner put up more points than Hedican did in his career best season.

Seriously, the talking heads are on fire today. Kyper and MacLean with their absurd Kiprusoff talk and Button with the Gardiner/Hedican comparison? Man, all we need is Milbury to appear on TV somewhere.
