Useless Thread

Thanks LHF and Sarge :-D

I'm flying to Winnipeg at noon today and will be there for 12 weeks, starting my level 2 apprenticeship at Red River College Monday!

The last 6 months have been awesome, I have been in Gillam for a total of 2 months maybe and now leaving for almost 3 again. This is all due to training I have in Winnipeg for my job.

I am hoping to get rotated to a station down south this July when they do the annual rotations! I have started to even get serious about house hunting too!

I've got a ski trip this weekend and was looking for some recommendations alcohol wise. I've already got the vino covered and I've already chosen my whiskeys(Maker's Mark/CCR) but I'm thinking about another top shelf spirit. Anyone have a particular favourite? I'm leaning towards Tanqueray 50 or something like that.

I'm a fan of Kahlua, Bailey's and/or Amaretto. Depends on what else is happening!

It's a Polish vodka... Shoot it right out of the freezer.

Oh, good point. Any liqueur suggestions would be helpful too.

It's really got a unique flavour... I hated it at first. You might feel the same way too but it's not expensive so there's not much you have to lose here. - Just shoot it ice cold.

Hah, well, I'm not sure if shots are on the menu and I'm pretty loyal to Stoli when I do go with Vodka.

I'm not really asking for me, because I'm pretty set with my bourbon/rye, but more of a top shelf thing to impress the other folks.

Very old Wisers, Cracken Spiced Rum and White Owl Whiskey, not sure if that's the kind you are looking for, but they are pretty tasty. The very old wisers has sky rocketed in price lately though, in MB its 60$ a bottle and it used to only be 30 a few years ago :s

It's the king of thing that keeps our spirits warm while outside in the winter. It's a great traveler.

Zubrowka is excellent. Nice spice overtones, mixes well with ginger ale.

You a gin drinker? The crack of alcohol...

I've been known to have the occasional G and T in the evening or a Greyhound with breakfast. That's why Tanq 50 was my thought. It'd been recommended to me, along with Hendricks, as one of the better gins available.

Love me some g & t's...bluecollar Beefeater. Hendricks is good - never heard of Tanq 50.

Sorry, it's Tanqueray 10, not 50. It's their top shelf gin.
