That phrase reminds me of this song
mapleleafshotstove.com
My goofy (not a scout) Leaf-centric comps on playstyles, not necessarily level.
Gavin McKenna: gifted manipulator of time and space, Mitch Marner but with a left handed laser cannon (+ATT,-DEF) and a happy, grounded family support system

I don't even know if anyone else here other than Carlton is in the age range for this answer
I had three boys. Our dinner conversations were interesting, in that they were all over the map. Never knew what we would be talking about on any given night.Who is Justin Bieber??? Who is Selena Gomez????
GET OFF MY LAWN!!!!!!
Having three daughters who were teens at that time, the dinner table conversation was more like a table reading of the TMZ website.

After cw recently privately reached out to me about the site I've too long neglected, I had to dig back into the May archives to see the group joy at this un-Leafiest of moments. A new hope.

I went back to re-watch the video and read the comments. It's all coming back to me now. The 12 ball was so visible as soon as it was selected before the guy even took it out I yelled. My youngest kid and me were yelling and cheering at the tv lol
In a way it was more satisfying than the Matthews lottery win. Not to say I'm more excited about McKenna, far from it, but going into the Matthews lottery, the Leafs were dead last with the best odds, so not winning that one would have been a huge disappointment. This lottery win was totally unexpected. My middle daughter is the only one interested in the Leafs. We were watching the draft lottery and same thing, we could see the 12 ball drop and we were a hootin' and a hollerin' the rest of the house had to come see what all the commotion was about.
Also everyone was so down heading into it considering IIRC we were more likely to lose the pick than to even stay at 5. Just such a wild reversal of fortune in such a short time.In a way it was more satisfying than the Matthews lottery win.
