I dunno.  I'm not that impressed by moves that come to almost a full stop.  In the BS world of shootouts, the least BS moves of all are those that come closest what a breakaway would be like in reg/OT.  This looked like ASG stuff to me.

Not to say he doesn't have great hands.  But if I were Backstrom I wouldn't feel that bad.

He came very close to coming to a full stop which would negate the shot then. Looked good but I don't like it. It's soooo close to being illegal.

OK crazy solution for the shootout...a player from the opposing team starts at the other goal line and you have to score before he catches you.  :P

Pretty sure Kane would've been caught there.

Fans of impressive shoot out goals may want to see what Patrick Kane did tonight. Fast hands.

It was a good one:

(they don't have an individual video for the SOG - it's at the end of this one obviously)

It would be awesomely hilarious of Kane skated the whole way in from centre ice the same slow speed as he finished it off, stickhandling like mad the whole way.

So what exactly is up with Boston giving up 90 shots (and only 2 goals) in their last 2 games?  Outshot 90-51 over 2 games, win both, and outscore the opposition 8-2...

The effect of having arguably the best defencemen in the league out of the lineup but still having pretty good goaltending to cover the teams mistakes?

Geez, did you have to embarrass me by answering a somewhat rhetorical question so concisely...? :(

IIRC correctly, Roger Neilson in Junior (Petes I think) used to put a player
in for the goalie on a penalty shot and then have the player race out and
attack the guy taking the PS. Again IIRC, they had to put in a Roger rule to
prevent a team from doing this.

Yup ;)

So apparently Milbury's been charged with assaulting one of his sons peewee hockey opponents.

REPORT: Mike Milbury was offered only $5,000 bond, but instead negotiated a deal for $1,000,000 plus a first round pick for his release.

Saw a headline that read 'Henrik hits back at trash talk'... since when do the Sedins hit anything but the ice and their gunshot wounds? Lies I tells ya...

Rangers win with a true buzzer beater tonight - puck crossed the line as the clock was changing from 0.1 to 0.0 seconds left.

In my yahoo pool, I had Bryzgalov and Quick as my starting goalies tonight.  Al Montoya on the bench.  One had a GAA of 11.07, the other one of 21.09.

Montoya? 0.92 GAA.

>:(

Looks like Messier is owed "significant" $ for his time- I mean penance- he spent playing in Vancouver.

I guess the Canucks should spend more attention to their payroll than listening to Ron Wilson and Brian Burke speeches.
