Pittsburgh... You're not helping!

Sure they are. Leafs are only 4 back of Pens, they're not home and cooled away by any stretch. Just glad it wasn't a 3 point game.

Yeah. Sure, a Devils loss may have been the most obvious beneficial outcome, but, keeping as many teams within striking distance could be just as much help. With the Habs up 3-0 on the Jets, it's shaping up to be a very good afternoon for the Leafs.

I think if Ottawa's slide continues much longer, the 8 that will make it will be decided pretty soon.

Sure looks like it could easily shake out that way. In terms of winning %, they're on pace to be on the outside looking in. Someone joked about the All Star game being the Cup (or something along those lines) and, as ridiculous as it sounds, there may be some truth to it. The lead up to that event seemed like a big deal for Ottawa and the team, and once it was no longer something to look forward to but something that was very real and happening, it's like a bit of a bubble burst with them. It could very much have been an emotional high for them and, now, they're experiencing a bit of an emotional letdown.

Also playing with pressure now. When the season began all analysts had the Sens 14th in the conference. When they played well leading up tot the ASG suddenly everyone was saying they were a lock for the playoffs. Now it'll be a disappointment if they don't make it, I think the sudden expectations might have been a bit much for them.

The Sedins were on different lines on the ice this morning.  :o

I know it's happened before but I'd be curious to know what's the longest time they've gone separated?  A period?  ;D

20 minutes or their 28-35 day cycle?  Get it, because they are the Sedin sisters ;)

So last night the Coyotes hosted the Blackhawks and had the barn full.  A great time to show people how much fun an NHL game really is.  Well I sit just above the zamboni entrance where I have a very clear view of the ice.  Last night's game was a National tv game in the US so many cameras.  Some genius decided on the bright idea to put a camera in the zamboni entrance on a huge rotating pole that would constantly pan back and forth catching the crowd.  I have never seen so many people go just nuts on a camera guy before.  Finally a Coyotes rep comes down and starts giving fans crap for yelling at camera crew and tells them they have to put up with the obstructed view as the camera is staying all night.  What a great opportunity ruined for so many people.  This camera regularly blocked half of net and slot of goal in front of me and all of net and slot at far end.  I would even understand it if this camera was catching the live action but it was on the fans all night!!  Film the fans for five minutes and just fill in the rest.

When the hell did Phoenix get a hockey team?

Dave Tippett can get water from a stone.  What he has accomplished as a head coach in Dallas and Phoenix is truly remarkable.  When his contract expires at the end of next season, I certainly hope that Burke gets in line, I am sure that line will be a long one though.

19 straight at home for the Wings now - anyone know what the best home record ever posted in a season is?

It's actually 20 in a row, which ties the record set by the 29-30 Bruins and 75-76 Flyers:
