19 straight at home for the Wings now - anyone know what the best home record ever posted in a season is?

It's actually 20 in a row, which ties the record set by the 29-30 Bruins and 75-76 Flyers:

20! Even crazier

Crazy is right. The 20 for the 75-76 Flyers only ended due to the end of the season. I know it doesn't count but they won 4 more starting the next season.
Back in those days there were no overtime or shootouts either.

Mike Comrie calls it a career:

He wasn't already retired? Anyway, the Ducks almost sent Perry + a 1st round draft pick for Comrie it seems... But Lowe balked  :o

That is just completely insane.

Before Perry made the NHL he was a just a good prospect, not considered elite. I remember a trade that supposedly (and I can't emphasize this word enough) almost happened that would have seen Perry (pre-NHL) and Vitaly Vishnevski traded for Tucker and somebody else (can't rememer who - decent roster player but not a core guy).

Comrie was a pretty hot commodity the year or two before he made the NHL. I remember a pretty big deal being made about him coming into the league.

I remember Lowe wanted Comrie to pay 2.5 million to the oilers in order for top up the deal, I didn't realize it was for Cprey Perry though AND a 1st, although they did end up with Smid in a different transaction.

Lowe's spiteful nature really came back to bite him in this case.

Not saying Ana won't make it but they have to pass 6 teams to get into a playoff spot and 2 of those teams have same record as Ana in last 10 games.  It's gonna be a struggle to pass them all.

And as hot as the Leafs were at the end of last season, they couldnt do it. I think its to steep of a climb as well, with all them 3 pointers to pull off.  I would say they dont make it, and the big problem is they are in a race so they will not be sellers.

Just thought I'd mention this here

New arena in Seattle?

There have been rumblings of late that Seattle is serious about building a new arena to attract NBA/NHL franchises. I personally think Seattle would be a great choice if Phoenix gets moved.
