2011 NFL thread

With the Colts win, my Rams now have a very good shot at landing the number one pick, which got me thinking... what would they do?

Honestly, I haven't followed the NFL as much this year as in years past, but I'm intrigued with the upcoming draft. I mean, the Colts can draft Luck and kind of go with a Favre/Rogers deal, but do you draft Luck if you're the Rams even when you've got Sam Bradford? Luck might have higher upside, so do you trade Bradford, or perhaps even trade the pick for a receiver and other help?

No way!  My Vikes are all kinds of bad.  Our problem is that we have so many holes a first overall pick won't stop the bleeding any time soon. ;D

With an emphatic win against the Chargers, the Detroit Lions have their 1st 10 win season since 1995 and 1st playoff spot since 1999. This even after losing their starting RB after Week 6.

So you think the Sander's curse is broken then? :D

Ask me after they win a road playoff game. Looks like a trip back to the Big Easy or San Francisco is on tap.

No playoff berth yet for the Denver Broncos, as Tebow throws among one of his worst games, a 40-14 blowout to the lowly Buffalo Bils.  The Broncos play the Chiefs next and hold the tiebreaker in the division (currently tied with the Raiders).

Meantime, the Patriots clinched a playoff bye defeating the Dolphins 27-24, thanks to Brady and a solid second-half showing.

Way to go, Pats!

Well I don't know how but it's win and we're in for my Cowboys. I do however, expect to be smoked by the Giants which at least has my 8-8 for the season prediction spot on so hey, there's that.  :-\

The New Orleans Saints romped 45-17 over the Carolina Panthers, setting a number of NFL single-season records in team yards passing, offensive yards, and first downs.

Quarterback Drew Brees surpassed Peyton Manning's 2010 record of 450 completions, by setting a record of his own at 488 completions in a single season.

Well, I'm not surprised... Maybe one day the Cowboys will get serious about their secondary. Anyway, I need a team to get behind for these playoffs now... I'm thinking Baltimore but really, anyone but Pittsburgh, Green Bay, or god forbid the Giants.

Patriots need to step up thier game these playoffs.....the last few they've been in and out..... tired of this great in the regular season crap.  :o

This time, I have faith that the Patriots will go further (in the playoffs).  Well, at least I have faith in Brady.

I didn't think the game would be that much of a blowout. Then again, turnovers tend to be huge in the playoffs - the Saints lost two fumbles in the first half and trail 14-10.

17-14 NO after a quick touchdown to start the 3rd quarter.  Fun game so far.

You have 2 of the 3 QB's that tossed for 5000+ this year. You also have the Saints balanced corps of WR's up against one of the game's more dangerous receivers in Calvin Johnson. Can't help but be an interesting game. Now if only Javid Best was healthy.

Saints haven't punted yet and are marching down the field yet again (following online, don't have cable).
