Well done PHWA members, voting Ovechkin both a 1st and 2nd team All-Star at two different positions (RW/LW) after being told by the NHL that he was a RW.

Huge trade in the works. Boston and Dallas close on a deal sending Tyler Seguin to Stars for Loui Eriksson. Other parts involved as well.

Wow.  Seguin trade might happen.

Interesting! Is Seguin that much of a douche that Boston would get rid of him like that?

Well, that or Dallas is offering them a pretty good deal.

Of course, but it just seems like it came up so fast at the draft, along with them shopping him, that Boston is the initiator of all this. That tells me that they want him out of Boston. Not to mention this whole "message" thing that was sent his way, I'm just feeling that they soured on him quite a bit.

Eriksson is a solid player but 6 years older than Seguin.  This has the potential to be a win for Bruins in the short term but maybe a loss in the long term if Seguin develops into a stud.  I think you're right though, Boston seems to have soured on Seguin.  Wonder what else is involved in the deal?

With Bergeron and Krejci having the top 2 centre postions locked in and Horton on his way out. Eriksson would make sense for the Bruins, his cap hit is 1.5M lower than the Seguin's too.

They better hope that Bergeron can still play for a while, he's taken a beating over his short career thus far.

Sure, but the motivation behind the decision can just as easily be "We feel we need to change it up a bit" as it is "We don't like Seguin."

If Seguin is their most valuable, non-essential piece, and I think he is, then shopping him makes a lot of sense...if they get back a great deal.

There was talk that he was close to signing an 8 year extension, so they seem to be banking on it.

Trade is bigger than Seguin for Eriksson. Draft picks to Boston? Prospects? Working on details.

I thought it was pretty obvious that Seguin and Eriksson wouldn't the only assets in the deal.

He was clearing up the mystery of whether or not "other parts involved as well" meant that other parts would be involved as well.

Fair enough, but why then mention all the behaviour stuff, if your shopping him? Wouldn't that diminish his value a bit? I don't know, I'll just let it play out.

A lot can be said about Seguin, especially after this season, but I think Boston could soon come to regret this deal in a big way.

Might just become a Seguin fan if this happens.

Who did mention it? Not anyone officially from Boston.
