2013 Draft Day Thread

Rumor is that they will be replacing the shootout with bench presses starting in 2014-5.  Between Biggs and this guy we will be unbeatable.

Well, I'm typically a little wary of guys who are described to have fairly limited upside in the first round but, on the other hand, the Leafs need help and size down the middle so...ultimately, I don't have a strong opinion here.

Is it just the first round tonighttoday or more?

The entire draft is today.  Even with 3:00 minutes on the clock this round is dragging.

Long day ahead for the teams.

What worries me is that he was under PPG in Q, which has very inflated scoring stats... as you said limited upside... there we definately more exciting picks, more risky but potentially more rewarding... anyway safe pick, we will see in 3 or 4 years.

This is the darkest day in Leafs history.

On the contrary, Berger likes it.

Howard Berger
#Leafs draft size at center. Gauthier. Very wise move - off Sidney Crosby's old junior team. But, for a couple or three years down the road.

Well I nominate Berger's comment as one of the stupidest I have read. Ever. H

He's said to be a really good skater, which is really key for a big guy.

Yeah...but the flip side to that is that anyone who gets drafted in the 20's with 1st line potential is also going to have a bunch of question marks.

The best news of the draft is that the Leafs have not traded away Gardiner/Reilley in any bonehead move few places up...

Impressed what NJ pulled off. Daylight robbery.
