2013 Toronto Blue Jays Thread

Buerhle has been brutal again, giving up a 7 in the bottom of the 3rd. ColbyCo gets 2 back with a 2-run shot in the fourth, but feh.

Hmmm.... Jays have cut the lead to 7-5 in the top of the 8th with 2 on and 1 out... interesting.

Edit: Arrgh, E5 grounds out to end the inning with runners at the corners after the Jays had closed it to 7-6! Last chance in the top of the 9th.

Edit 2: woot woot Arencibia homers with 2 outs in the 9th and the Jays lead 8-7. :o
This after getting the tying run at 3rd with nobody out.

JA Happ taken to hospital after being struck with a line drive tonight.

That was really scary.  Apparently he is in stable condition in hospital, undergoing a number of tests.  Stable is good.

I drafted Janssen in my fantasy team. I've benched half the time in favour of somebody else and yesterday morning, dropped him all together. I've shown no confidence in the Jays to give Janssen many save opportunities yet week after week, Janssen and the Jays burn me. Basically what I'm saying is that Janssen is a save machine and I'm an idiot.

I was listening to the game last night when the injury happened. I was parked at a Tim Hortons getting ready to leave and I had to just sit there and listen for a while. It is a very scary situation - I hope he ends up being okay.

I am getting a little worried that Mr. Romero's season with the Jays may be over. At least the major league club. Another putrid outing, 4 hits, two walks, three earned runs in a third of an inning. Maybe they brought him back too soon.

Anyone else see the resemblance between Melky Cabrera and Candy Maldonado?  The other night against David Price, Melky was batting from the right side.  From the centre field camera angle, a spitting image.

Good start by Jenkins today, 5 solid innings (plus two batters). He leaves with runners at 2nd and 3rd and none out and a 10-1 lead. The homerfest has been in full force with Bautista with 2, Edwin, Lawrie and Bonafacio with singles. Emilio is 3 for 3 with a single, double and a HR.

Hopefully they can hang on and win only their second series of the season. :)

Wow nice; small sample size but the past 4 games have been encouraging at least, especially for the bats.

Nice start from Ortiz tonight too.

Jose Reyes on the comeback trail sooner?...

Another win against Tampa last night. Too bad they lost two to the Yanks on the weekend to fall back to 10 games out - it would have been nice to pick up at least one win in those two games to keep pace after that four game win streak. I really want them to start to make up some ground soon - it is getting hard to keep interest if they stay entrenched in last place.

They're getting better. They're slowly inching back towards .500, and they're only 6 back of the 2nd wildcard.
