Also in the "how are these guys so bad" file, the Flames are just a point up on the Ducks after 11 games and have allowed 46 goals.

Flames are a little less of a surprise to me. I didn't think they were as good as their record last season. Didn't think they'd be this bad, but figured they'd be middle of the pack at best.

Yeah, that's fair. But for a team with that collection of defensemen(injuries notwithstanding) and some pretty good offensive forwards it's a little surprising that they both can't score and are giving up a ton of goals.

Watching a little bit of Sabres-Islanders and the Barclay's Center looks awful as a hockey venue. Poorly attended and the seats at weird angles.

Hawks send Bickell to the AHL. I wonder if there's a deal in the future there for the Leafs - take Bickell's contract off Chicago's hands and get a decent mid-round round pick as part of it? Also, maybe be able to turn Bickell into more picks at the 2017 trade deadline? I don't expect anything any time soon, but Chicago's gonna need the cap space next season. So, something at the deadline this year or at the draft?

It's interesting to me looking at Chicago as in being in the opposite situation of the Leafs:  a team on the downside of their competitive years, and trying to manage life at the cap ceiling.

Bickell is obviously dead-weight on that team's cap, and I would think that they'd rather move him sooner rather than later given that he's not contributing.

That's what I would assume.  I would imagine they would want to try and maximize cap savings now in case they need to make a deadline acquisition.

I'm sure they would have loved to have done that. I'm also sure they explored that option and found no takers/only deals that required them to add a significant asset. I don't think they'll be able to move him in a deal that's acceptable to them until close to the deadline at the earliest.

I am so happy to see Seguin get a hat-trick against Boston, in Boston.

Just a terrible human being too, making some kid cry:

And McDavid looks like he may have injured his shoulder.

He'll probably be out 6 months and Oilers will get Auston Matthews.

That's not funny.

Seriously. If the Oilers win another lottery I am done! I don't know what I'm done with, but I'm DONE!

It didn't click until now that Dallas had back-to-back away games against Toronto and Boston. Well done NHL schedule maker, well done.

I really wanted to see McDavid against the Leafs on Nov 30th...sucks.

I wonder...  He'll be out 'months'.  I wonder if into the new year they decide to sit him out the rest of the season?  It's not like they'll be in a push for the playoffs.

Yeah, he has a few years of growth left there, not sure how it will effect the healing though, I guess it'll depend where on the bone the injury was.
