I'm starting to think PAP doesn't get a 2nd... if he's traded at all.

Perhaps not a second, but I'd be surprised if he isn't moved. I can't see the team getting hung up on what they got in return (to the point of not moving him) if the market for him softened.

For a few minutes there the Sportsnet Trade Deadline show was about other sports' trade deadlines.

Ouroboros.

It's a little strange we haven't heard Boyes' name at all.

I have to say that this is a very weird deadline day.  It's almost like you can't get picks for expiring contracts anymore.  Just one more way that the league is circumventing the Leafs rebuild.  God will they ever just take it easy on our poor Leafs.

Pirri for a 6th is just weird.

That makes me feel like we're at the "just take this guy for something" phase. Again, not a good sign for PAP.

What's causing it though?  Are we actually seeing a shift in how NHL teams conduct themselves, or is this just a blip?

I think a lot of teams that wanted to make moves made them early. Florida and Chicago were always the two teams in my mind that were most likely to acquire depth, and they basically traded for everyone.
