Imagine Eichel-Draisaitl?

I like Draisaitl but how much of a product of McDavid is he?

Same thing with Pastrnak?s situation. The guy can sure score but it?s mostly chances generated by Bergeron and Marchand and PP space.

Draisaitl spent a good chunk of the season not with McDavid and still piled up the points. He's a defensive mess, but he produces quite well on his own.

Yeah I think Draisaitl is pretty legit. Not exactly top-5 player in the game I guess but still less of a passenger than Pasta.

I think the McDavid effect will still benefit Draisaitl if they're not on the same line(in the same way Tavares had his best ever season the first year he wasn't an opposing team's focal point on defense) but he's not a slouch.

Spitballing a 2014 (ignoring who was slotted to draft)

Draisaitl
Point
Nylander
Pastrnak
Ehlers
Ekblad
Reinhart
Arvidsson
Larkin
Fiala

He led the league when it shut down with 110 points, 4th in goals, and was outscoring McDavid in both goals and assists.

If you combined the past 2 years, he still leads the league in points, and he's 4th in EVG.

Yeah, he's no slouch.

Would you really put Nylander ahead of Pasta at this point?

Yeah, you're talking to the guy that only grudgingly puts Marner ahead of Nylander.

A) it's my brand, as mentioned above; I had a hard enough time not putting him first.
B) Nylander drives play on his own; Pastrnak finishes plays with aplomb
C) Centres > Wingers
I prefer the one who makes his line better rather than relying heavily on others.

Vancouver!!??
What about them?  Did you watch to the end of the gif?

Ya, I just don't remember them being that good back then.  It's probably because I never much cared about them.
Okay.  They were kinda hard to miss, winning the President's Trophy twice, going to the Cup finals and sporting a league MVP.

Albeit still the worst MVP decision of my lifetime.

Worse than Jose Theodore?

I wasn't a fan of the Sedin choice, but I'd argue even the Corey Perry one was worse.
