2025 Blue Jays

I think the part that is impressive about the deal is no opt outs. But whatever, there’s no salary cap, and losing him for nothing would have been colossally stupid.
I'm most happy and excited to know we'll see a lifelong Jay, a (super)star player to boot. He's a unicorn wanting to spend an entire career as a Blue Jay (and in Canada).

He has all the runway in the world now to go down as the greatest Blue Jay of all time. I personally cannot wait to see it all unfold and cheer him on in doing so for another 14 years.

Jays are 7-6 and presently sit 1st in the AL East for first time since they were 1-0 in 2024 (Mar 28)

Still no power from Vlad, Santander or Bichette but we do have George Springer first in MLB with a .459 batting average and 4th in MLB with a 1.254 OPS.

Kirk was really smashing the ball in Spring Training but man, he looks just atrocious at the plate so far. No walks, no homeruns, and just a litany of runners left on base. It would be nice to see these guys start hitting dingers, because they'd be a pretty dangerous team

When will the Davis Schneider fantasy camp be over? He was a fun story for a month but he does not belong in the mlb.

At the very least Davis needs to go to the minors and find his game.

Bring up Barger.
Davis is 26 and his problem is he can't hit an MLB fastball. I get that baseball is full of quirks but I think that's a fundamental problem that isn't something that can be fixed.

2025 - 16 plate attempts - 0 hits, 8 strikeouts, 2 walks, 1 HBP

April/May 2024 he put up a split of .245/.354/.470 .824 OPS
June - September 2024 - .159/.234/.264 .499 OPS

He's just not an MLB player and dressing him at this point is just a losing move.

Barger should be playing but he's another LHB and that would leave Clement as the only RHB utility bench option while having a glut of similar, limited-position LHB's (Roden, Wagner, Lukes, Barger).

It was insane. I watched the whole game. I didn’t realise it was that unbalanced, but it was so inconsistent - there were pitches he called ne innings as strikes he then didn’t the next.

Worst bit was when Schneider was at bat, he was 3-0 count, the next 2 pitches missed substantially high but were both called strikes. The next one missed outside and Schneider did well not to swing cos I’d not have been trusting it’d be called a ball.

Next inning when the Sox were batting pitch in the exact same location was called a ball.

It was definitely a factor in the outcome. I guess you can’t allow 4 game series sweeps.

On a positive note, the Jays played well again and Heineman had a brilliant game at catcher.

Two rough losses in a row where it looked like they had the game under control. Too bad it was both against division teams (and umpire helped against Boston).
