Nope. And it’s really close, either. Nowhere near as strong offensively. More physical, sure, and maybe a little better defensively, but not enough to put him in the same tier, at all.
I always liked Schenn but I handily prefer Tavares. He probably wouldn't be as good as he was the last time but his brother still intrigues me as a pairing with Rielly (though I have not seen him much at all this year so I'm not sure). But I guess Dubas, like everyone else, is going to squeeze for a crazy price.

He’s saying the leafs offered 2 firsts, Minten and Cowan for Rantanen and had an 8 year 13.5 mil contract. And Carolina said no because they didn’t want him in the east.
This makes no sense. If they didn’t want him in the east, then why would they let the leafs talk contract with him? And this deal also sounds insane and exactly not what the leafs needed.
I’m calling bullshit on this.
