Game Notes
CBJ
-Jet Greaves will likely start for the Blue Jackets
-Matthew Knies of course had a massive debut in his first game with Columbus with 2 goals and 3 points, but has gone 5 straight games now without a point and just 6 shots in that span. The odds of that streak continuing in this game are probably low though
TOR
-Anthony Stolarz will start for the Leafs

I think Rifai would be interesting to try next to Raddysh. Then you can fall back to McCabe and Stetcher and finally you have Rielly and OEL.

Rifai is probably the type of d-man Raddysh would feel comfortable playing with. Mobile by unflashy. Holds down the d-zone while Raddysh wheels.

Auston Matthews will be playing his 700th career game tonight.

He has evolved over the past 10 seasons from rush sniper into more of a Bergeron/Barkov style player this season.

I just read something that said Stetcher and OEL actually have pretty good numbers together although they have only play 79 minutes together, but they are winning their numbers. Raddysh has 15 giveaways already.

So maybe Rifai - Raddysh, McCabe - Rielly, and OEL - Stetcher and see if that works.

I hope Knies scores just cos it still amuses me that they fire a massive cannon when Columbus scores a goal and nobody really thinks that’s a bit mental.

I think they also fire it to start the game
A bunch of visiting NHLers have expressed that they do not care for it.

The one I don't want to hear is the end of the game. They fire it if the Blue Jackets win.

Columbus is not a strong team offensively. Hopefully, that helps the Leafs build some even strength defensive confidence. Columbus special teams are having problems. Ignoring the back to back, on paper, the Leafs have a good shot to win some points here.

In a way I have a bit of a soft spot for Columbus in that I think they’ve done a really good job of attracting a pretty good, die hard crowd. But never really given them any success to enjoy.

Maybe I feel for their fans rather than the team actually.

I also think their coach is a bit of a knob.

I thought Trump would have ordered they sing the Russian national anthem ...

First goal since December 2024. Haven't scored in almost two years? Just play the Leafs!!!!

The leafs will score alot of goals, but they are also going to give up a a lot. This defense is atrocious. And Stolarz has been shaky. Not much he could do on that first one, but you’d like to see him make some difficult saves. The defense is going to give up a ton of chances. They are aggressively bad.

I dunno. That looked very stoppable to me. Dude is like 8 feet tall and it goes in above his glove? No deflection. No screen. That didn't look good.

PK Willy is such a weapon
Third straight PK shift he’s generated a turnover and scoring opportunity. This one nullifies the PP
