Gotta put Kadri on the blueline now. He can skate backwards and everything.

Boyle supposedly we might see going back lol. Smooth skating forward that he is. Forwards need to get back been our problem all year. Defence isn't the greatest but forwards got to do their part and they need to be better because we are giving up too many good odd man rushes.

While I know what you're saying is technically true, you also have to consider that
it's at least in part a byproduct of the aggressive offensive system that their success is built on.

It's literally an X's and O's situation and just saying the forwards need to get back quicker is simplifying the issue.

I think the more this group plays the system the better they'll get because it will become second nature to them and they'll be able to reduce the number of breakdowns, but this system will always he high risk.

Realistically I don't care at this point.  There is a legitimate chance for the Leafs to beat Ottawa.  I can't say the same for Washington (although they actually have worse Game 7 karma) but I think any playoff experience at this point in time is necessary.  In some ways a short beatdown might give a better pause for the work needed to progress to the next level.

I would have loved to see them win a series think that would of been better for their development and I did not want to see a Washington series. Nobody but themselves to blame been doing it all year blowing leads. For those who think start with the best going to be in for a wake up call. OV will be on a mission and Washington is solid. Andersen is going to have to steal a game or two but going to be tough.

Ended the season with a bit of whimper, but the advantage to playing the caps is that since we'll be such underdogs, I doubt there'll be much stopping the kids from just playing loose without a great deal of pressure. That'll be fun to watch.

Going against the best team will be a great lesson for the kids. They'll get to see what it takes to be a contender. I'm not disappointed because I'm sick of playing Ottawa anyway. Whatever the outcome, great season.

If you're going to whine and complain about which team this Maple Leafs team is going to play in the playoffs, you'll find a way to whine and complain about anything.

Let's go eat the Capitals' lunch.

Exactly..It usually never works out when you try to line up against certain teams. There are no favorable teams to play in the playoffs, they'll all be tough.
And I think the Leafs can beat Washington. Lets hope 22 and 46 are ok....we'll need them both.

Are they going to be feeding it to us? Jk

I'm only disappointed that we miss out on a battle of Ontario. Great season!

Please tell me Washington doesn't feature stupid weekend afternoon games.

On the upside, now that the playoffs are starting, I'm pretty sure I've now heard the last of Millen and Romanuk for the season.

Full playoff schedule should be released after all of tonight's games are complete. CBC broadcasters said Thursday/Saturday for the first 2 games in Washington. I don't think too many people would be happy with a Saturday afternoon game, has to be on HNIC Saturday night!
Guessing games 3/4 would be Mon/Wed in Toronto?

The season has been a success even if they didn't get in. Would it have been disappointing if we didn't you betcha. To win the Stanley Cup which we are not going to do this year hell we have to beat any of these teams. Personally I would of liked to see them start out with a weaker opponent and maybe win a series. Nik I'm not whining and complaining. I've done enough of that during this season and the same s**t happened tonight that has frustrated me to no end this year. Think most of you will see that starting next Thursday. As much as I'd like to see an upset it's not going to happen.
