60 dominant minutes every night and 4 PPG+ scorers on the same team.

These are completely realistic expectations.

Colorado lost 8-3 last night. They better sell at the deadline.

Didn?t Tampa lose to Detroit as well recently?

You know on that note have the leafs been blown out at all this year? I think there was a 5-1 loss maybe but that?s it.

The Ottawa loss after leading 5-1 is probably the only other real pooper.

Riiiiiight. Forgot about that game.

Calgary: 6-2-0  (3-0 shutout)
Edmonton: 6-1-2 (3-1 win)
Montreal: 4-1-0 (2-1 win)
Ottawa: 4-2-1 (6-5 OT win after being down 5-1)
Vancouver: 3-2-0 (3-1 win with Leafs on back to back after 3 games against Edmonton)
Winnipeg: 4-2-0 (5-2 Win)

The Leafs have lost by 3 goals two times
The Leafs have lost by 2 goals six times (including the two 3-goal losses).

Calgary 3-0 (0-7 on the PP)
Winnipeg 5-2 (Skilliter game)
Vancouver 3-1 (3 games in 4 nights after the 3-game sweep of McDavid)
Vancouver 4-2 (Outshot Vancouver 39-31)
Ottawa 5-3 (5 goals on 24 shots against)
Edmonton 3-1 (EN goal)

The Leafs have won by 2 or more goals 15 times.
The Leafs have won by 3 or more goals 6 times.

There are no numbers that can accurately depict what Campbell means to the Leafs right now. Absolutely right. Yes. None.

This is funny because by all accounts Hutchinson is a really nice guy and teammates love him. But he?s not a good NHL goalie. So then numbers kinda do matter.
Numbers def matter. I think what we're seeing is a team pulling for a guy that's really struggled so far in his career and has overcome his injuries this year.

The Leafs have hit touchdown territory 3 times
- vs Van 7-3 (which kicked off the series we put up 15-5 over 3 games)
- vs Ott 7-3 as a second response on a B2B after the 6-5 OT loss.
- @ Edm 6-1 for Freddie and Auston's returns to close out two straight shutouts by the back ups.

10 is a number, isnt it?

NO

1.58 .944%?

You and your dumb analytics.

Oh I think I get it:

That's kind of a Pirate face or perhaps Popeye  "Shiver my timbers" look.

One thing that is encouraging is that last night's game was the type of game that would have gotten away from them in the past.  In the second period they would have started pressing because they were hemmed in, they would have made a mistake and the other team would have scored and then things would have spiraled.

Nice to see them be able to weather storms like that now and the take the game back under control.

That's a huge difference this year. The team doesn't panic no matter the score. Stick to the plan, the chances will come.

The difference is simple: Brodie + Bogosian, and, now, solid goaltending.  The Leafs success this year is mostly due to overall better defense.

It?s funny thinking back to when the leafs signed Brodie I remember quite a few analysts on the radio saying the leafs were getting a puck moving power play specialist. More than 1 of them said that he?ll remind us of jake gardiner.

Was there a different jake gardiner that played in the nhl that I?m not familiar with?

Yeah, he's pretty much the opposite of Gardiner.

Didn't he clear waiver in Carolina.  Pretty much on the scrapheap at this point, unless Edmonton turns him into another Barrie.
