Canucks vs Sharks

If it wasn't for the extra point for winning in the shootout, the Sharks wouldn't have made the playoffs. I hate to say it, but, I think the Nyucks go to the 2nd round.

Tough one. SJ seems to have an embedded culture where they typically don't rise to the occasion.

If they got better goaltending, I mean you never know, they could definitely win. Vancouver is always iffy in net. I think it'll be Vancouver though.

Vancouver over the Sharks.

Make no mistake, San Jose will try to make it miserable for the Canucks, but, with Vancouver's speed and possibly more dependable goaltending, it'll be their turn to shine.

The Sharks have Thornton, Marleau, Couture, and then some upfront.  That's good.  As long as their mentality is to not be very productive in the post-season.  We'll see.

Bingo - the shootout really helped the Sharks (8-4? Seriously?), and with their history of chocking I wouldn't be shocked at the Canucks taking this in 5 or 6 games.

going with the Sharks in 7.  I think the Van goaltending mess is going to bite them big time.

Luongo was PIIIIIISED after that Oilers game, and Schneider's health is in question.  Gillis has created a monster.

Yeah. I'm thinking short series, too. 5 games for the Nyucks. The Sharks have made some changes, but they still have the same core that has a long history of playoff failure and they have the wort regulation+OT record of the 16 teams in the playoffs and the worst road record. Their home record is impressive, but, it won't be enough for them, unfortunately.

3-1 victory for San Jose over Vancouver.

Sharks scorers were Couture, Marleau and Boyle with the winner.

Kevin Bieksa scored the lone goal for the Canucks.

Good game by Luongo even though the Sharks rallied back from a 1-0 deficit.

I'm thinking Luongo would like that tying goal back even though there was a crapload of traffic in front. Those dribblers through the pads are frustrating.
