Canucks vs Sharks

He'll be busy finding a new city to live in.

That's my guess, too. After bungling the Luongo situation, leaving the team with a bit of a cap mess, and on the decline, this first round embarrassment should be curtains for him. If ownership/management in Vancouver is smart, this summer will be the beginning of major changes.

The Sedins turn 33 in September. The window for them as franchise players is closing if not closed already.

With 17 signed for next season, they're over the cap for next season with six more to sign. Dumping a goalie will free up cap space to sign six more but they'll be fringe players with the goalie dollars used to sign six.

No money to re-sign Roy or Raymond unless they compliance buyout Booth and/or Keith Ballard (assuming they don't burn a compliance buyout of Luongo).

If Schneider has another stinker, his trade value goes down. He could have been moved for a King's ransom this year to help them offensively.

So how do you then materially upgrade the offence of the team that was 19th in goals per game to make them a legit contender? Not impossible but certainly not easy under their present circumstances.

The path for this roster to win a Cup looks like it will be a difficult one to find.

I usually wish good things for Canadian teams but I'm enjoying Gillis' predicament.

I am hoping for a sweep myself so that i will have less to listen to this offseason from nuck fans. Gillis has bungled that team into nothing. Thank god ;)

Word cw...let them burn.

Just watched Bieksa rant about how the Sharks are embellishing and specifically said Couture and Thornton should play the game the Canadian way.

God I hate that team.

Isn't that the same whine they used last time? Find some new material!

at least it was Bietska?. If Kesler dared to whine about embellishment, I would have had to haul out the pot/kettle argument. He's the effin' worst.

I liked the little follow up just now in the intermission. Bieksa says people should disregard accusations that the Canucks dive and just focus on how the Sharks are diving.

It's almost like everything crummy about the Canucks summed up at once. Somehow managing to combine diving, whining and complaining into well, let's just call it "Canucking".

Oh the deliciousness.  Canucks down 2-1 after 1 period.  Schneider in goal over Luongo.

Pure Gold.

I expect sweeping changes in Vancouver this summer.

I'm not particularly a fan of Vigneault but if he takes a fall and Gillis doesn't, the ownership should be marched into the sea with their hands tied behind their backs.
