I love having the puck on Nylander's stick most of the time but midway through that 5 on 3 when it was apparent that they were taking away the cross ice pass they really needed to make an adjustment to get Matthews involved.

I agree.  Matthews has to get at least one shot on goal in a situation like that.
 
1. I don't really think that was a terribly blatant case of intereference.

2. That said, it shouldn't be incumbent on Andersen to move away from being interfered with.
 
there was no interference when the shot was taken, we got lucky on that call.

Side note, MLB overturns quite a bit of plays after video review.  Seems to be the opposite here.

Less MLB replays are on judgment calls like a goaltender interference call. They're generally more black and white.

True but I think there's still a hockey culture at play here giving the refs the benefit of the doubt.

Maybe, but, again, we're talking about judgment calls. MLB umps get the same leeway there (though, admittedly, again, there are less judgment call type situations in baseball).
