Capitals @ Leafs - Feb. 21st, 7:00pm - TSN4, Fan 590

Well this has been entertaining! From both ends....I tell you I don't feel half as nervous when Freddie is in net..

I mean he's still picking up points but I don't see those "wow" moments where he was just dominant and tilting the ice all the time
I think he only has 14 pts in his last 20 games so he's def slumping a little. I think Johnsson has just as many, or is close to that kind of production. He'll snap out if it. Keep in mind if Hyman buried some of his chances it would be a non factor point wise.

I know it's really small sample but Nylander looks really comfortable at center.

Radical thought for playoffs, I hate what Gauthier and Lindholm don't bring. Go with your big 3 centers, have Nylander do spot duty on a make shift 4th line along with Trevor Moore and someone else. Sometimes Matthews gets an extra shift with those guys, sometimes Tavares, sometimes Nylander. You basically play your best guys most of the time and have 4 lines that are always a threat to score.

Radical? Pfft. I said this in training camp.

Anything to get Matthews playing more is good for me. I'd drop Marleau to that 4th line and put Moore with Matthews. But that's me.

Muzzin appears to be leading the Leafs in 5v5 TOI for the first period from his third pairing role.

Pretty sure I said this 7 years ago before we even knew we'd have Tavares, Matthews, Kadri, and Nylander.

Dang, that?s streets ahead.

38 shot attempts in the 1st period. The Leafs have had 8 games this season where they didn't have that many all game at 5-on-5.

Gauthier is 8 foot tall.  He can never come out of the lineup.

You're forgetting Nostradamus predicting it in 1555:

A coffin is put into the vault of iron,
where seven children of the king are held.
The ancestors and forebears will come forth from the depths of hell,
lamenting to see thus dead the fruit of their line.

Nice find. Does "will come forth from the depths of hell" refer to Matthews coming from Arizona or Tavares coming from the Islanders?

It's those sneaky tricks those prognosticators use...they're deliberately vague just in case one doesn't come to pass.
