Hitchcock takes Blues to 4th-best record in NHL and gets a one-year extension. Carlyle's Leafs miss playoffs and he is in for 3 more years.

Some mighty fine cherries are being picked if the Blues season gets summed up as "the 4th best record".

I predict there's going to be a lot of anger about the moves this team will make over the summer. And, I'm really really really hoping the young defenceman that Randy was referring to in his end of season press conference was Franson, not Gardiner. I don't think it was, but I'm really hoping.

Hold on. Do you think there's going to be lots and lots of repetitive, narrowly focused criticism? Because I fear change.

It will be more funny when Carlyle gets fired 2 years from now and Shanahan and Nonis have stunned looks on their faces.

This can only mean one thing-- plenty of roster changes OR tanking for McDavid.

In other words, we gamble.

So tanking for McDavid amounts to gambling but firing the coach and hoping a new one could turn this team into a contender is...what? The sort of sound management that leads teams to the top tier of international Quidditch?

Busta-Potvin will need anger management sessions for three more seasons to deal with what's transpired today.

If this organization is gonna continue to make asinine decisions, then I'm done with them.  When they actually start making intelligent decisions, I may come back.  Time will tell, but for now, I'm done cheering for this team.
