Supposedly a judge has granted a temporary injunction against the constant honking of horns but because of just where we are now and what this has revealed about the Ottawa police, we have no idea if it will actually matter because whether or not the Ottawa police will enforce the law is anyone's guess at this point.

This is such a shameful page in our history as a country. Unbelievable.

You're a poo poo kaka head and I want you to go bye bye! [emoji2359]

The thing I really think gives the game away is the inclusion of Singh and Blanchet. Not because they're doing a fantastic job or anything but because it betrays such a complete lack of understanding of how Canadian politics works. There's no such thing as a vote of no-confidence in the leader a party that doesn't form government. If you could have "votes of no confidence" in individual MPs then majority parties could just get rid of whatever MPs they don't like in opposing parties.

So while it's fun to point out how stupid these people are, it's worthwhile to understand just what a complete and total disregard these people have for the concepts, rules and standards of our democracy. It's just straight up fascism. It's why people flying Nazi and Confederate flags feel at home in the midst of these protests.

I just read that whole email - it?s batshit crazy. It?s worth reading just for the comedy of it.

Certify that the vaccine doesn?t have rfid chips or nanotechnology? Can I hug my grandparents?

Back in September, when the kids went back to school, my wife, who's a principal at a local high school, received 4 letters from different "law firms" suing her for asphyxiating children. Much like the letter in that email chain, the spelling/grammar was horrendous.
A couple weeks ago, when it was time to head back into the classrooms she received phone calls from parents asking for reassurance that my wife or her vice principals, would not tackle their children, hold them down, and jab them with vaccines.
Then at the end of this week, another parent threatened to sue because they "fog" the classroom with toxic chemicals that will kill their children.

They have lost what little they had left of their minds.

Wow.

The pandemic just accelerated the trend of the worst being brought out in people, gave them something to focus on, and whipped them into a frenzied spiral of insanity.

Welcome to my world when talking to these idiots for the last two years.  The list of questions.  I have had to answer those questions over and over again.  You get to the end of the list and it's like a hard reset occurs and "we just have different opinions".

They care about the truth, they only care about their "truth".

My MIL refuses to get the COVID vaccines due to fear of blood clots (she's had some heart issues.) Her information comes from her husband who is a conspiracy theory nutjob. My wife and I and desperately trying to get her to talk her, you know, primary care physician.

Seriously, listen to the experts. Yes, sometimes experts are wrong. Sometimes science changes. Sometimes that which we think is safe turns out to be otherwise. But you know what's not safe? An 80-year woman in poor health getting infected with sars-co-v2.

In her case, she's not anti-vax. She secretly got her flu vaccine. But she's influenced by such easily debunked misinformation from her conspiracy nut husband.

And they're not going to change their (closed) minds no matter what is what I also hear. I don't even discuss it with the nut jobs any more. It's like arguing with children.

It's sad how much political tribalism has infected things like this. Science and medicine shouldn't take sides based on ideology.

I find it always comes down to some evil being behind the scenes manipulating everything. Then any logical argument is countered with, they're lying to you. So facts can no longer be used. Despite the fact that they are facts.

The sky isn't blue, Bill Gates actually put up an invisible dome around the earth that tints it blue. Really it's purple, but Bill Gates hates purple and loves blue. He put the dome around the Earth in order to make us all love blue as much as he does so he can sell us more crap.

How do you argue with that?

The thing that drives me batty is the fact that people, in general, defer to experts all the time; auto mechanics, plumbers, electricians and so on? but science and medicine - that?s where we draw the line!

The thing is I?m far more leery of any trades and mechanics giving me bullshit information to try to rip me off. But you know, science is evil.

My favourite subgroup of this have to be partiers. People who go out, take whatever they can get their hands on but refuse a vaccine because they don't know what's in it. You can't make this stuff up.

I do understand it at least.  If the mechanic says my brake pads need changing, the only thing that impacts me is the cost of replacing my brake pads.  Are there mechanics out to screw you and get you to pay for things you don't need.  Absolutely.

When I prescribe you medication, you feel the effects of that medications...whether it improves your symptoms or you end up with unpleasant side effects.  So having personal autonomy is reasonable.  I generally tell my patients that I'm here to give them educated advice but what they choose to do with it is up to them.  I can't force them to get a vaccine.  I can't force them to have surgery.  I can't force them to take medications if they don't want to.  I will do my best to advocate for them to do things that will benefit their health but if you say no after I explained everything, that's fine.

What certainly has been frustrating though is that the arguments for/against things have become abstract.  I can work with "I don't like taking pills" because we can try and find combinations.  I can redirect to better lifestyle choices for cholesterol/diabetic control.

I have nowhere to go when you think a vaccine is going to activate cancer genes or the Decepticons are going to take over your brain and force you to sacrifice your babies to feed Joe Biden's hunger.
