Would be real nice if Nonis grabbed another 2nd rounder. Teams seem to be trading them, what's he waiting for?

Well, for the most part, teams were trading them for other 2nd rounders, which makes things difficult for the Leafs.

I wanted the Leafs to snag Ryan Collins. Sometimes the frustration comes out when I write it down! :)

Ranked 83rd among North American skaters by Central Scouting, so, a little off the board - but, at this point in the draft, that's not unusual.

If I remember correctly Verhaeghe seemed like a bit of a reach too. That's not really a bad thing though at this point.

Russian dman with an edge to his game, maybe someone they liked from last year when he went undrafted who has continued to develop?

Yes, that's what I see from his stats page. He came over to Canada to play for the Ice in Kootney.

He went #3 overall in the KHL draft in 2012, if that means anything.

Happy about adding a physical defenseman, right hand shot, minor cap savings, concerns about Gunnarsson's health.  Unhappy about losing Gunnarsson as an individual and a pick as an asset.

If Kulemin is gone, who's our longest serving drafted asset now?  Reimer...?

JOHN PICCINICH TOR (4th Round / 103rd Overall)

Piccinich is a playmaker who has strong vision and creativity with the puck on his stick, especially when given time and space. He has good senses and a decent shot selection. Inconsistency in his efforts need to be ironed out. (November 2013)

How much salary did we have to retain in this transaction?
