What the fuck is the team playing for OT for. This team is stupid. Why are you trying to bank points in a meaningless season. Either go out and try to win or go for glory and lose. Playing defensive puck control late is stupid.
 
We do need to be losing.

I don't blame the players for trying to win.

I'm enjoying seeing Cowan emerge a bit more.

Amazing what can happen when you give young players ice time and responsibility and roles instead of trading them for something you then trade for a loss a year later. Imagine they had 4 or 5 Cowans scattered through the roster instead of... Well, Jarnkrok, or Lorentz or whatever.

Domi is overpaid, and mis-utilised, but in a way he at least showed a bit of what I'd like to see. He'd almost convince me he had a role on the team if he could play like that more often.
 
This game was sort of the most effective deployment of Domi: have a feral first half that’s basically not even hockey, and then get disappeared for the back half where his defensive liability is negligible. Pezzetta was sort of following the same pattern. Joshua toed the line more subtly.

Sadly it’s not sustainable for a full regular season’s slate of games.
 
It might be if he cost like $1.5m. But yes. Overall I agree.

Which is a shame - as I enjoyed him last night.
