Dudley Believes Maple Leafs are ?So Close? to Being Good

One of the more hopeful comments from Rick was about Colborne, if he can find that extra step and develop anticipation, he could be a real useful addition.

Deschamps's looked good too, from what I've seen, hopefully there's a big push from some of the kids next year.

Wow!!!!  what a bunch of bitter pills you people are. Dudley is right that this team is on the edge of a 180 if Burke fixes the Goaltending. you guys need to look at the whole system before you open your mouths. Burke has stocked this system with more talent then the leafs have had in 30yrs.  before the big crash (and I blame the habs on that Riemer hit) the leafs we kicking butt, then after they lost there goalie it fell apart. its all there to see. so stop whining guys and take a look we are almost there. I see this team moving up.

I think the Leafs are the only team Dudley has worked for that didn't fire him - you're in good hands Habs fans!

The Boy Who Cried Wolf
A shepherd-boy, who watched a flock of sheep near a village, brought out the villagers three or four times by crying out, "Wolf! Wolf!" and when his neighbors came to help him, laughed at them for their pains.

The Wolf, however, did truly come at last. The Shepherd-boy, now really alarmed, shouted in an agony of terror: "Pray, do come and help me; the Wolf is killing the sheep"; but no one paid any heed to his cries, nor rendered any assistance. The Wolf, having no cause of fear, at his leisure lacerated or destroyed the whole flock.

There is no believing a liar, even when he speaks the truth.

Nik, does this example hold true here?  Nutman's optimism somehow feels different than the boy's shi*t disturbing cries of "Wolf, wolf!!!".

I believe Nutman is sincere in his beliefs.  Now, if he were trolling for reactions I'd tend to agree with your analogy more.

You know what is great though? Eventually the wolf is coming.  :)

So is winter, and yet, the sun still shines over Westeros.

I think it was the immortal Chicken Little who once said, "Even a stolen pig can be blinded by an acorn falling out of the sky."

Because he's been wrong - so wrong - for so long?

Sure.

Got it.

So maybe i am positive. also it is much more fun watching my team with the hope that they will come out of this crap, then to consistently whine about how bad they are. I see the positive in things, and yes the past few yrs the leafs have been a let down but anyone who knows anything about Hockey can see that this team is moving in the right direction.
so call me what you will but I am just someone who sees the positive in things. and by reading some posts on here its not hard to know who the neg loosers are.
