Who are these idiot refs? Komarov is going to get a reputation and he hasn't done anything. It's going to dramatically reduce his effectiveness.

The best part about it is that the refs didn't give him a penalty for the hit initially.  So it was entirely based on the fact that he got crosschecked in the back twice by the Florida Panther.  So 2-minutes for hitting a guy effectively enough to make him draw a penalty.

That's how I saw it.

These clowns then pass word along that Komarov is an instigator and a diver and then the refs look the other way when guys take liberties with him. So he goes from an overall clean player who draws penalties to virtually useless because of referees.

I saw it the same. Komarov wasn't being called for a penalty until he got cross-checked in the back.

So this is a bit premature, but who starts tomorrow night?  Do they bring the Bus out of the garage?

If Scrivens has a relatively quiet 3rd I think I'd go with him because he's so deep in the zone, even though I almost never think it's a good idea for goalies to play on consecutive nights.

I think it was Mirtle who tweeted today that the Leafs coaching staff don't think Rynnas is ready for NHL action just yet, so most likely Scrivens gets the start.

Unless Reimer is ready for Thursday which I haven't heard anything to say he will be, that is a lot of ice for the rookie Scrivens.  I think I give Rynnas the start tomorrow.  Scrivens is playing way too well to mess with his confidence right now by throwing him in there tired tomorrow night against an offense like the Lightning which leads the league in goals scored.

Or look at it this way, you put Scrivens out there against them because he hasn't been scored on in almost 2 games lol.

Go with whoever is more likely to win, Rynnas or a tired Scrivens?

That play right there by Scrivens coming out of his net in traffic was insane.  So confident out there.  This guy has put up lights out numbers at every level of hockey he has played at.  Why he has never been considered a solid prospect, I will never know, he doesn't get the credit he deserves.

Scrivens with an unbelievable run of good goaltending since taking over for Reimer: 1 goal allowed in 180 minutes of play.

I would start Big Ben again.

Go with the hot hand, I agree. He's earned every minute.

I have always been a huge Scrivens fan but do not mess with this.  3 games in 4 nights/ 4 games in 6 nights is too much for this kid, we have to be smart here.

Has anyone else noticed that the Leafs are giving up way fewer odd-man rushes this year?  Huge improvement in that area from what I can tell.  Definitely helping the goalies that they aren't facing very many breakaways and 2 on 1s at all.

The worst post-lockout pace for a playoff spot was 94 points.  That is a 1.146 PT% pace.  That 94 points works out to 55 points in the abbreviated 48 game season.

The Leafs currently sit at 1.25 PPG.    To hit 55 points the Leafs would need to finish the year on a 1.09 PT% pace.  15-15-5 would be enough to make the playoffs at this point (most likely).
